This is a good ol' workhorse of a phone and that's why I keep buying this model even when all the latest and greatest keep coming out with new features. This one does just fine for me and I can text, take pictures, send pictures, get voice mail, have some apps, get Weatherbug and Mapquest and things like that if I want, send to email. I like flip phones because they are protected from making errant phone calls. I wish more companies would put money into just improving this type of model.
Since I won this phone on Ebay, it was a GREAT deal at only $20. However, I downgraded from my iPhone to decrease my monthly bill to this Sanyo flip phone. What a HUGE difference!?! There is no "basic" ring on this cell phone. No basic "beep" for messages...everything has to be a crazy sounding, loud, obnoxious ring and they ring over and over! There is no setting for the rings to go through only once. And being that I have become accustomed to using a a keypad or board, going back to the stone age, and having to press the same button (texting) 4 times to reach one letter is not my thing. However, the phone serves its purpose...and for me, that purpose was mainly for a basic cellular phone plan to make calls. The battery life has proven, so far, to be really good. I love the color pink, so its perfect cosmetically.Read full review
For the price (I bought mine for about $20) this is a great little phone. I wanted one that wasn't black (that disappears when you put it down) and was a basic flip phone. I'm over 50 so I just wanted a phone that makes phone calls, sounds weird I know. I have a great plan from tello but they sell terrible phones and they ripped me off with one made by Alcatel. Battery lasts a long time, action is quick, and it's purple not pink!

If you are looking for a rugged phone that you can use at work in adverse conditions this is the phone. It does not have a camera but it does have every thing else you need, blue tooth, GPS, web. I owned the same phone for two years and liked it very much. I finally killed it by submersing it under water for a half hour or so, but when it did dry out two or three days later it did work fine but with out the display. A great blue collar phone.
This is the 2nd phone of this model in the household. My son has carried his in his pocket (no case or holster of any kind) for all that time and it shows very little if any wear. This phone gets double the time on a battery charge of just about any of the previous phones we've had, and we've had *many* cell phones in the past 16 years. There's no camera or other blingy features, but if you don't need them this is a great phone. It is definitely "ruggedized" and therefore a little larger than many flip phones -- but it gets the job done extremely well for voice calls and text messages. Too bad it's been discontinued by Sprint and/or Sanyo, because a recent trip to my local Sprint store revealed that nothing in the current product line comes close to the "ruggedized" features of this phone. (Except some Motorola models, but all of them are Nextel-only and won't work in my area.) I've recently bought a third one of these, to keep on the shelf as a hot spare. If you want your phone for use as a reliable tool and don't need it as a flashy accessory, this is an excellent choice.Read full review
