This phone with a smaller memory was stolen in May. I purchased another Samsung product but could not adjust to the difference. I decided to find another Rugby as close to the stolen one as I could. Just like reunion with an old friend. Good screen size, easy to learn (even without reading the owner's manual). Difficult to find something to complain about. I really like my phone.

ringer volume on text messaging and calls are not that great. Key pad for texting is to small and letters have to be redone as a result. Battery life is poor and there is no battery percentage left that can appear on the screen like other smartphones. You cannot block out text messages on this phone either. The phone is ok for someone to use in certain cases but there are much better smartphones available with more features.

At the time i'm writing this review, I've had this phone for about 2 months. I'm very happy with it so far. First off, it feels very solid and a little heavy for its size. makes me think quality and durability. It uses android gingerbread, which is fairly easy to use, although i did find it a bit complicated to sync with my PC. Other than that I've found most of the features pretty straightforward. I have to say, I'm impressed especially considering the price I paid. If your looking for a good value on a smartphone and not looking for the newest phone out there, this is for you.
Great phone. Not the highest camera resolution but still a very practical 5 megapixels. Except for bragging rights who really needs 8 MP? I got arthritis early in my life so the ability to have a phone that I can grasp without it slipping is important. And, if I drop it? No prob. Its durable. Because it has built in rubber grip surfaces and is able to withstand impacts I don't need to by a case for it which is why I buy a case. That means it stays smaller. Don't need a big screen TV on my belt. Bright screen. Intuitive android OS. Good reception. In January I can upgrade and I will get the I547 4G LTE version with newer OS.
After a bit of a merry-go-round I just recently received my Samsung Rugby Smart i847. Still learning the ropes because I have just moved from a not-so-smart Samsung Rugby. I bought this model because of it's "rugged" rating. I haven't had to test that out but it's still a big selling point for me. I also wanted a wifi-capable phone, which this is. The touch screen is very responsive and the display is awesome! It's a bit small for reading emails but it's a phone not a tablet. At this point I am very pleased with this product. I don't anticipate that changing as I have have generally reliable service from my previous Samsung products.
