It is good for stating out..it is a basic phone in a "smart phone" likeness. right now i have a smart phone for work..so i dont need a smart phone on my personal acct. but i couldnt go back to a regular basic phone that didnt have a touch screen. so this is a good compremise. it can get on the internet or send email...but i dont use it... it has a pretty good touch keyboard ...by no means as good as my S7 but all i need is a phone i can get calls on....text alarm and a calendar...just in a touch format now this phone is small so a big handed man may find the querty keyboard hard to use. you can't type real fast with it the call quaility is good battery last for days with me...but im not a person that stays on the phone either photos are ok if ur looking to go from the very basic phone to touch screen phone...before you go to a smartphone... then try this...i have no real complaints about...i have pantech brand phones for years... i would say give it a try...before commiting to the real smart phones...if you have never done touch screens...it takes a bit to get use to themRead full review

Some of the features to the phone were pointless. If you swipe to the side you are given several icons for social networking sites including social beat. If you click Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc, it will all redirect you to social beat. It is not good for a messaging phone. Everything is touch screen. On an iPhone I hardly find myself making mistakes even with auto correct. With the pantech crux, I am always going back and fixing mistakes if i attempt to type quickly. I got mine for a low price so if you really want a phone that has a keyboard and it's being offered for a low price I would take it vs an old school flip phone. It has a single sensor button at the bottom which will take you to the home screen from anywhere on the phone. It slides up and down to unlock and lock. However, it automatically locks after about twenty seconds if it hasn't been touched. When you enter for messages, you can use it as you would a keypad, or turn it sideways for the on-screen keyboard. It has three buttons at the top of the phone for music. Personally, I am not a big fan of this phone. I deactivated it and activated one with an actual qwerty keyboard. I will, however, use this phone for my music needs. The speaker phone is loud and audio is very clear. Calling is flawless. The battery lasts me for nearly two days with average use. Overall the phone is not something I would recommend, but it is better than a flip phone.Read full review
My wife and I both use this phone. It's not a smart phone so don't be fooled but it is a good little phone that has all the basics. I just havent been able to justify buying myself a smart phone so I bought one that looks like one. If you don't like touch screens then don't buy it. Given the opportunity, I'm not quite sure if I would buy it again because of the touch screen but it has served me well for a basic cell phone. I even went swimming with it by accident and found it at the bottom of the pool. I dried it out and it still works fine. My son had one and it only took him about two weeks to crack the screen making the phone useless. Bought him another one, we'll see how long this one lasts.
I bought this phone to use on page plus cellular, because they wouldn't port over my Verizon prepaid phone. Since it's not a smart phone, I couldn't load and use any apps on it. The web browser is set up for Verizon, but doesn't work with page plus. I can't even download ringtones. The only "data" I can utilize with it on page plus is picture messages. It works just fine as a phone. The camera is decent, and it does take video. The menus are intuitive and user-friendly. I put a 4 GB micro sd card in it, but haven't used much of it at all. I listen to music with an mp3 player. Pictures and contacts only take up a little space. For use on Verizon, it would be a good, inexpensive alternative to a smart phone. If you want to use it on page plus, expect to only use it as a phone.
i put up with an LG "touch screen" phone for almost 3 years. the touch screen was a joke. it was difficult to use. I wanted to upgrade but verizon doesn't have very many dumb phones to choose from.. I have 2 daughters with pantech crux and they have been very satisfied... so i decided to try. It is a 100% improvement over the LG. the biggest problem is that i liked having a real keyboard that slid out. (the one and only thing i liked about the LG) which made it easy to text.. the on screen keyboard is NOT FUN to text on. Most of the time i get gibberish and have to start over. but other than that, it is great.. the sound is better, the touch screen works. the camera is better. i would buy this again.. the only thing i wish it had is the slide out keyboard of the old phones i had.
