I'm so glad that I found this phone. I use a Blackberry Torch for work, but still keep a personal cell phone to stay in touch with family and friends. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles on my personal phone, so I was just using an older model samsung slider. It served the purpose, but I was spoiled by the qwerty keypad on the BB. When I used my personal cell, T9 became a chore. This little phone is a mini version of the Slider BB Torch without a touchscreen. The only downer is there's no "shift" key on the keypad to use symbols without going to an actual symbol menu. Aside from that - LOVE IT! It's small, but not too small. Easy to use, and the keypad is a good size for typing. The camera isn't anything fancy, but I always have my BB with me so that's not a show stopper for me. 3G is great too, considering I struggle with getting a good signal in my home.. I'd score this phone as a 90 out of 100! I think I'll buy another and stash it away for the future....Read full review
This phone is perfect for someone who despises data plans, and prefers something simple for texting, sms, and calls. Unlike many of the phones Samsung has released, this one actually works very well and does not suffer from the constant random restarting issue, or poor reception quality/dropped calls/unsent texts. Though this phone is heavier than most, and a bit on the clunky side, it is compact and small enough to fit in a pocket. I have owned two so far and have ordered a third which I am customizing. Of the two previous, I dropped them, smashed them, ran one over into gravel with a small pickup. One fell off the roof of my car and exploded all over the driveway. With the battery back in, and the cover back on, it fired back up and kept on working! These phones are tough and well worth it if you want a low end phone that actually has some quality to it. Pros: Dependable, very durable, user friendly, inexpensive/great value, and let's face it as heavy as it is, if all else fails you can at least hit an attacker with it and probably severely injure him/her. Put it in a sock and swing it around, the phone will be fine, the attacker probly not. Cons: Heavy, few frills or features, not a smart phone, not a very technically advanced phone, and sadly, it is no longer offered by T-mobile. (Sorry kids) My advice, buy a couple of these and whatever spare parts people are selling online. Well worth rebuilding and refurbishing, trust me, I know from experience.Read full review
I received this phone about a month ago and absolutely love it! The Samsung Smiley is a great little phone with cool features such as social buzz so you can stay connected with all of your social networks & friends! The keyboard is easy to use for texting and the sound quality on phone calls is crisp and clear. I would recommend this phone for anyone who just loves to talk and text without having to get an expensive data plan although you will need data access for certain features on this phone. This is my second Samsung phone and I am pleased with it and feel you would be too! Nice phone for the person who is budget minded.
I NEVER received the phone from the seller, but did by chance get a replacement from T-Mobile WHEWWWW!!! If some people just do business correctly, we wouldn't have eBAY problems. Anyway the phone is enough to do what I have to do. You can get on the net as well, though most script and access is limited, It's nice, and you only pay $10 as opposed to 30-40 for other phones. Nice phone, glad to hav a repalcement. Coulda bought any phone I wanted, but I'll keep the smiley!!!
for a T-mobile phone, it's good. I hate not having threaded texting (ie conversation view for text messages), but no T-mobile phones besides smartphones have that, apparently. I have lots of contacts, custom ringtone, a camera that takes pictures, and i can type with a keyboard, so I have everything I need really. just don't expect anything spectacular :)
