I read reviews of this phone before I bought it, so I knew it's limitations for customizing. I didn't want to pay top dollar for the fanciest, newest cell phone. I only needed a basic phone, not 1000 apps. I am happy with it. The size is good. Voice quality is good and reception inside my house, which was very poor on my old phone, is fine now. The touch screen is nice. Texting is way easier. I like the bigger buttons in T-9 mode. Sometimes I miss the letter I want in Qwerty. The menus, if limited, are laid out well. Don't have 3G where I live, so I read how to shut that off for longer battery life. Wish it had a standard headphone jack. The camera works well for still pictures. Video resolution is not very good in playback, even on the highest setting. Overall, I would recommend this phone.Read full review
I bought this item for a Christmas present, so I only used it a little to test it out & make sure there wasn't anything wrong with it. From the use of the phone I think I would also like to have one for myself! I haven't found anything about it that I have not liked. It has a touch screen, made my calls well, and has a lot of other nice functions (such as email, web browser, nice camera that takes pictures & videos, etc). If you want a touchscreen but cannot afford an iPhone, then I would definately recommend this phone. I would say this is definately a nice alternative to it!
First, I must tell you a few things about me which may not applied to you. I use my cell phone for texting, taking pictures and sending them, and making phone calls. I do not use the internet, listen to music, or play games. However, if I have a job, I would definitely buy an Iphone 4G because I would use the internet (yelping for services, get directions, Facebooking when I am bored). My previous phone was a Samsung Behold (pink) and it had last 22 months. I have dropped my cell phone way numerous times and I believe it finally gave way to my clumsiness. I needed a cell phone for the remaining two months of my T-Mobile contract. I searched on Ebay for something that is inexpensive. Likes: 1. It's a fairly good price for a nice phone. It is cheaper than a Blackbe 2. It is very simple to use. I was able to familiarize with the browsing interface and set my preferences. 3. It is the same size as a Behold but lighter. It fits perfectly in my small hand. 4. The Contact List is better than Behold because you can search by catergory and you can also use the scroll bar. The Behold doesn't have this function and you would have to scroll until you find the contact you want. 5. The camera is much better than the Behold. It captures the images more clearly even though the megapixel is 2.0. I had problems with the Behold because the images would always come out blurry with the stablizer. So I find the camera on the LG much better. 6. I like the ringtones on the LG. 7. I like the quick shortcut on the alarm clock. On your wallpaper, there is the clock and when you click on it, it shortcut to allow you to set the alarm. The Behold does not have this; instead you would have to go to the setting to set your alarm clock. Dislikes: 1. This will only affect T-Mobile customer and if you have the text message with multi-media plan. The phone is set with At&T media setting. YOu'll have to either contact T-Mobile via phone or go into their stores so a staff member can assist you with changing the multimedia setting for you. 2. I wish the search function on the contact list is like the BlackBerry in which you can start typing out the name and it will bring up the contact.Read full review
the phone is the right size. the numbers are big enough to dial easily. i do not do email, texting, internet on my phone but for sure this phone does it. i did not but dial anyone;. wished for a louder ringer.... the seller said charge everyday....but the problem was a battery on ythe way out. still have it as a spare but new battery cost me 4 bucks and now phone goes for days because i do not use it a lot. phone is handsome, and now i look like a techno maven cuz i have a touch screen phone.... but truth is it was a good buy, fits my needs, easy to use, the bad news is they took it from me in peru and becuase i was hurried i left it at the security.... i am calling to see if they have it at lost and found. if they do i will fly back to peru to get it. ( this might just be an excuse to revisit peru which is a wonderful destination...food, climate, people and vistas. (ok i confess it is an excuse to go again but i love the phone and it has some great photos in it. phone cost 48 usd, trip to pick it up will be 1000 usd. does that mean i can depreciate it at 1048 usd?)Read full review
I just bought this phone used after I lost my LG Neon, and I have to say, after owning that crappy Neon, the LG Vu is a breath of fresh air. It actually does what I want it to! I love the simple menus and the fact that it's sleek looking doesn't hurt one bit. I love the Wine color as an alternative to the black... black is so boring, and this color spices it up a bit. The only thing that I don't really prefer over the Neon is the virtual QWERTY keyboard. The "keys" are way too small, and I have pretty small fingers, so if I'm hitting two keys at once, I definitely know other people are, too. Also, I don't know if it's specific to this phone because it's used (the calibration might be slightly off) but when I go to hit, say, the "back" button, it selects the button next to it, so that's a bit irritating. Besides these few little slips, the LG Vu has brightened my life a little bit. I'm so used to my phone shutting itself off, and this one has yet to do that, so it's already ahead of the Neon in my book. I do really miss my slide out QWERTY keyboard, though. :(Read full review
