This phone is REALLY awesome and I've ALWAYS enjoyed it, I am replacing it later today with an LG VX8700 since i always like that phone. I use a droid too, and i keep this. It seems as a good phone for heavy texting teens. Keybosrd isn't cramped, or too big, just right. Camera also seems to be good as well. The screen has good graphics, but when I receive picture messages when opened the phone the picture gets little, when closed stays that size. I used this for the web right before I purchased the droid,. and it wasn't that bad of a web browser. Has a good look to it. DOESN'T use 3G but it is still fast on 1X technology. What I also don't understand is that my DROID failed to get signal where I live, completely lost any internet signal at all, and the INTENSITY still connects with one x and flies. i don't have any complaints on the intensity's side there, but COMEON, it's a FREE phone, and the droid costs, and it had 3G SINGAL not available. But basically as i understand it, it is the lack of the towers in my area, nothing I can blame on droid. The phone has another con is that it lacks video. Everyone video messages mostly now, and the 8700 I am choosing from 2007 even has this. This phone is from 2010, and lacks the videoing option. I am amazed that they never included this on either INTENSITY,450'460 (the two models) I really like the blue color. It doesn't seem that bad of a color choice, i really like that color. But another thing again I have a con on is that there is an automatic key guard i had to disable that because nearly every time I had to get rid of a picture message (meaning view) i'd hit ok, and then it'd say KEYPAD LOCK ON, I mean, It's not like I was butt-dialing or anything :P that this'd be useful for. There s a two step keypad unlock, so i guess 1 pro is that less butt-dialing. I had that a lot with past phones. Overall this get's a good rating- and with VZW coverage, you just CANNOT go wrong.Read full review
My first observation is the solid feel, the metallic skin certainly adds to this. It's well balanced in the hand, open and closed, and the hinge feels solid. Buttons The buttons are RAZR-esque, however, the Samsung Hue has somewhat greater tactical distance upon depression - so you actually feel like you like pushing a button. Interface I am adjusting to the Samsung interface. My last Samsung was a Samsung X-427, about four years ago. A few quirks, but nothing to complain about. Camera Not as grainy as I had predicted. It lacks a flash, but does well in low-light nonetheless. I wish manufacturers would get away from mirrors near camera lenses, they've been made too small to be useful, as if they ever really were useful, you know? Speed Web-browsing is quick and this is my first experience with Alltel's Cell Top. After deleting a number of useless Cell Top 'Cells' (think Vista gadgets or OS X widgets), I warmed up to it. Beware downloading the upgraded Celltop application, it will reset all of your Cell settings. PROS Solid, balanced feel Excellent call quality and very good speakerphone Quick web browsing and Cell Top turns out to be handy Fair camera quality Customizable face and battery plates LED outside panel actually turns out to be pretty sleek CONS As far as I've been able to tell, it's impossible to configure what the directional pad keys do at the main screen. I would prefer that down take me to my contacts, it's an old habit. You have to go into message settings to specify you want T9 as the default for composing messages.Read full review
Bought Samsung Messager II under $90. It is small to carry and fairly stylish. Cost would be the best pro of buying this phone. What I don't like about it is that even though it slides and you get another keyboard to type, however, the keys on the keyboard are pretty small so you really have to get in there to type something. So if you are a texter I would not recommend this phone for you. But if you just do basic calling and you are running on a low budget this would be one of the best phones in those circumstances alongside MetroPCS's cheapest calling plans. Although the phone has a loud and clear sound quality, but it does not support too many video file formats and even if it did, the screen is small to display a video clearly.
Keyboard is nice slide is cool but is a little sloppy and causes the phone to lock up more than just once and a while. But good quality sounds, camera, etc. The display is very light when you are outside it is near impossible to see the screen have to walk around cupping your hand over the screen to see anything. Overall a good phone, but I guess I am picky.
Has a defect with sending and receiving picture text messages and can't retrieve ringtones and ringback tones and can't send voice messages. I had a phone just like this one but dropped it in liquid so I had to purchace another one but my upgrade was already used so I had to purchase one from an ebay seller. I love the phone it's perfect with the keyboard and everything else but I feel it should be water proof. Why can't all cell phones be made water proof?
