The Samsung SGH A737 from AT&T is a quite a nice little gadget. The big selling points here, besides its capabilities, are its sleek design, its SD Memory Card capability, its toughnes, and its great functionality (it does help the fact that it is a Slider phone). Because the Screen is a bit smaller than the big Evo, LG, and Motorola phones browsing the internet can be a challenge, but if what you really need is to make phone calls, handle your agenda/view your Calendar, and download your music from your pc via Bluetooth this phone is all you need .
I've had various phones, the most recent being a Samsung Sync. That was a nice phone but it eventually wouldn't start up. Would just keep in a loop turning off and re-starting. I contemplated buying another one but decided to look for a slider phone because flip phones are a real pain to open with one hand. After reading and reading reviews I got this new one, the A-737. It was used but like brand new. I was already familiar with Samsung so I didn't need to learn the menus. The phone is compact, slides open easily. Display is fine, easy to navigate, loud enough which is a problem with some phones. Battery life is longer than my old Sync which is good, but as usual there is a very short warning time before the phone goes dead. I don't text, use the internet with it, play videos, etc. so I cannot comments on any of those features. I use it strictly for what it was intended to be - a telephone. No major negative but here are a few: o With the slide open the screen part has a slight loose feel to it. o The keys are a bit on the small side for someone with large fingers. o There is one button on the side that gives you a menu of choices that I have no use for and keep hitting by mistake just holding the phone. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. I bought an LG Shine for a relative and the Samsung is definitely better. The LG Shine had a joystick navigation system which I did not like at all.Read full review
This is my third A737 that I have owned. I love them because the menus are straightforward and easy to use. The battery, even as it wears out, always lasts at least a day. The first one I bought used, and it lasted a year and a half from the time I got it with no problems. I'm using my second phone now, and I bought this one as a backup for a year or two down the road when my current phone breaks. It drops well, too. Comes apart but the working pieces function the same when you put it back together. Also it is lightweight and easy to fit in a pocket. The only thing I had disliked about the phone was the flat number pad, which means you occasionally hit the wrong key. When you use it all the time, it is easy to overcome that small drawback. I highly recommend this phone! I'll probably keep buying them until after they are no longer manufactured.Read full review

Do you want a good phone? Yes this is an excellent phone and it has expanded capabilities with internet and messaging. But it is first and foremost a good phone. One handed slide open to answer calls. Amazing battery life. And you know how some phones, when used under poor reception conditions, like in a building or underground, eat their battery up very quickly? This phone does not do that at all. I am using it with AT&T service and 3G features for 3 years now I have no complaints. I purchased this one for my wife who needed a replacement for an LG flip phone that broke. She is very happy with the ease of use as well. Sound quality is OK, camera is just average but it is truly a very good phone.
