I first bought this model phone when I needed to replace my lg800 that crapped out in less than a month. This is also my first android phone. I must say i am loving the phone. I loved it so much I bought one for my son's birthday as he was dying for his own phone. The only other two phones I can compare this one to is a samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket and a HTC mytouch. This would be like comparing apples to oranges really because these two models are high quality phones while ZTE Merit is made for the budget consumer in mind. So I will list the pros that I notice right away and the cons that just aggravate me about this phone that can be fixed from the factory fairly easily for just a few pennies more probably. Pros - First pro is obviously the price. Not only for the phone but the plan from net10. I have been a net 10 customer for about 4 years and I find their unlimited plan an awesome deal for 45 a month. This phone is a great phone to take advantage of that plan. You can watch Youtube videos, surf the net, install the latest apps, and even multi task such as talk on the phone while texting or looking at the web. Phone is small and lightweight. The screen is fairly bright and the touchscreen is almost always spot on. I also love that it can connect to my wifi Cons - The top con goes to the charging port. The usb charging port is cheap. After charging the phone quite a few times the port became fickle and will only charge the phone if the cord is inserted just right. Heaven forbid if the phone vibrate because it will quit charging and actually drain the battery. I remedied this by buying a wall charger and I also found out that you are not supposed to use the phone while charging it or it can do that to the usb port. Could easily be fixed at the factory by reinforcing the part. The next problem is the battery life. I have closed all non needed apps and turned the screen light on low and with a little light texting only I am lucky to get 3 - 4 hours out of a battery.... kinda sucks when the charging port is fickle too. Third problem is the internal memory. The phone has 152 megs of usable internal storage. More than half of that is used up by the factory installed apps that I cant seem to delete to free up space. After installing a few of the apps you want, you will be finding yourself grasping for each meg as you download a new app. Luckily you can move your apps to the sd card to free up space but after a while the updates to the factory installed apps take up all the internal storage. There should be at least 2 gig of internal storage. I thought we quit dealing with megs in the 90s lol. Last con may not be a problem of the phone but when texting the phone sometimes stutters. and will look "ssomething like ththis" I notice the faster I test the more it does it so I have to slow it down. Kinda a bummer when your used to texting fast and have to go back over what you wrote to correct everything so you dont look like a blithering idiot.Read full review
The phone is fairly user friendly. The price was right. Also was able to buy an extended warranty for a reasonable price. Battery life is good. Monthly fee is very reasonable, best of all no contract. Can cancel at any time.
does not get wifi, very disappointing, can only use for phone calls and texting

Low price, good battery, a large screen. Of the downsides of unlocking costs money 20 ~ $ 25. There was no Russian language, but this is easily corrected.
