What more to say other than Dire Straits peaks with this alblum? All tracks excellent excepting the last. Even more mellow than their previous 'Brothers in Arms' (other than the hilarious track "Industrial Disease"). Particularly noteworthy is "Private Investigations" for its economy of sound and power of effect. To be fully appreciated, one must first get a good alcohol buzz going, then sit back in a darkened room and just drink it in. Another excellent way to enjoy this masterpiece is to get the Dire Straits video concert performance entitled 'Alchemy'.
Fine guitar work. Don't get much better than Mark Knopfler. Dire Straits was a game changing band. Superb album
