Initial Test
First test produced a clear and sharp image with and without the 'Tele-extender' which doubles the focal length - that is, it doubles the size of the image in the camera. The focal length predicates the use of a tripod - especially in low light levels. Sony A65 camera used.

It isn't all that clear at full distance but it's not a thousand dollars either. It will teach the fundamentals of long distance photography just by trial and error. It might be better at the gun range as a spotting scope.
