Oh, yeah! Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, returns for more trouble. Though a well contained story about facing famous Greek monsters to rescue some treasures, this book begins to outline a broader story. Author Rick Riordan expands his mythological palette to include, not just the Olympians, but their precursors, the Titans. This book has all the strengths of the original Percy Jackson adventure, The Lightning Thief. Fast paced action, cliff hangers in every chapter, likable characters, and clever original writing make this book a winner.
I read childrens fantacy because grown up books have too much filth in them. I have enjoyed reading the adventures of Percy Jackson because it is based on Greek Mythology and that is something a childrens writer hasn't tackled yet, that I know of anyway. I enjoyed mythology in highschool but didn't retain much of it. These books give neet reminders as to who a god or goddess is and what happend to them as Percy and his co-horts attempt the quest for each book. I am looking forward to reading book 4 but don't have time right now. I am also looking forward to letting my son read them this summer, because I think he will enjoy them greatly. Sometimes I find it hard to find books that a boy would like but these are books that girls or boys would enjoy.
Interesting book that keeps your interest. I love all of the Percy Jackson books.

while I personally still prefer the first book, it's a very good sequel that isn't as long and a very easy read
