I hope what my wife and I are doing with this GIG BAG will not be considered sacreligious, because it's working great for us. We are actually using it to tote around the framework of our PUPPET STAGE. That's right. Years ago, when ULTIMATE SUPPORT made their THINKERTOYS, I bought ALOT of it--and constructed our puppet stage out of it. So anyway, the longest piece is 52" long and fits in the bag along with all the other lengths. The total weight is about 40 pounds, I'm just glad I found a bag that was the perfect size for our needs. Color me happy.

As always Musicians Friend gets all A’s as a company. This Musician’s Gear Gig bag was absolutely terrible. The pic looks like the bag is full of form fitting foam that will adequately support and protect your instrument. But, there’s no way that bag would have done more than protect from scratches. That’s at best. A fall, or drop would be disaster. Because of all of the space (typically taken up by padding/foam) and thinness of the walls, even a bump into a wall would most likely cause serious damage.

This bag was purchased to carry a Yamaha MOX8 to an occasional jam session. The bag is plenty large enough for my keyboard and padded well enough for medium to light duty travel. Seems well constructed with a nice size zipper. I will probably find some foam to help take up some of the extra space in the bag so the keyboard doesn't slide around while moving. All and all I am pleased.

Not all 88-key keyboards are the same size. I researched several different brands until I found the one whose dimensions match my keyboard most closely. There is even room to spare. I have read previous reviews about the should strap O-rings being weak. Well I intend to mostly use the handles when carrying my keyboard. Also the price is the best I've found.

Good buy for the price. Good set of zip pockets. If you want to use the shoulder strap with an 88-key weighted hammer-action instrument, you will need stronger D-rings. I use the hand straps as a shoulder strap. The bag I have used weekly for several years has developed a tear at the piping at one end, which I can repair.
