I was able to fix my maytag bravos XL using this tool. The new bearings fit very tightly into the tub bearing bore so driving them in with a hammer while holding the lower washer perfectly centered with the bore would have been a nightmare. This tool made the bearing installation a breeze, it holds all of the parts centered and pushes the bearings perfectly in the bore with ease. Highly recommend, I found all of the parts to be very high quality, nicely machined.

Pro - Tool was well made and worked as needed. Instruction on it's use were well wrote with pictures. The bearings have no identification/part numbers on them. I hope they are of good quality. The seal was identical to the factory one. All parts fit well. Con - The "kit" did NOT contain the grease and sealant described in the instructions. I would think a "kit" would have ALL the necessary items to do a job. There was no forewarning in the sale ad that you would need to buy these items separately other than they were not pictured in the ad. If these are needed to do the repair, at least list the grease and seal names and part numbers I the ad.

Tube to seat top seal was busted (flattened). I had to buy a piece of plastic pipe to match size. The tube of grease was nearly empty Not enough to finish job. I didn't mind that tools had been used, but they could have sent something that worked! Also, shipping box was busted open, which may explain busted seal tool.

I have a Maytag Neptune model MAH6500AWW washer and the kit by itself was not sufficient to use for pressing the bearings into place. Because the silver guides that go against the bearings were not the same diameter as the outer raceway of the bearings for my machine I had to buy two washers to put against the bearings before using the guides. Using just the guides would have damaged the bearings as there is a significant amount of force being placed on the bearings while being pressed in. Instead I put the washers next to the bearings where they covered to the outside edge of the bearing before I slipped the guides on. After running the rod through, liberally squirting WD40 around the bearing edge and tightening the nuts down, the bearings popped into place. It was not easy for one person to use, but it did the job. The slight modification was adding those two washers. One was 2-3/4 inches and the other was about 2-1/4 inches. I also slipped an iron bar through the drain hole and across the threaded bar to stop the L shaped bar welded to the nut from turning. I put the back side of the drum up and held it with my legs and tightened down. It is definitely two man job, but one person can do it. Read full review

This is NOT the correct tool. One of the presses is NOT the correct size for the smaller bottom bearing AND it does NOT have an extended shaft to hold the bearing washer in place. It is also missing a bearing that is supposed to go on under the bottom press on top of the nut. Took me 3 times to set the bearings and I still did not get it right. I had to rely on the shaft (after hammering it in) to finish setting the bearings. The bearing washer kept on shifting without the extended shaft on the press to set it in place. Also without the missing bearing it tightened up to tight before actually seating the bearings properly. Rather rent the OEM tool or make sure to get the one that is sized and outfitted correctly.
