I recently started playing the bass..played 6-string for a while, so I know the structure of many songs, I have a Rogue lefty that I got almost 10 years ago and really it plays good, just needs a set up...I was so curious about this Ibanez bass..I went to GC to check one out and they had only one..and it was new and it was beat up..and scratched..but it played and felt so dang good and it was so incredibly light.. I had to get a NEW one that was perfect...I absolutely love playing this bass...playing a bunch today and my ears are ringing with the boom knob barely on..its not everyday that you get a precision instrument like this for anybody let alone a lefty like me for this price point.. I have owned bass guitars since 1973. I must have had 15 or 16 different ones through the years. I got my first Ibanez in 2001 and was impressed. I paid $600 for it (including a case). Ten years later, I bought my GSR200 for around $200 brand new. This one played just as smoothly as the $600 dollar one. In fact, it became my main bass in 2011. It's priced for beginners, but the versatile tone of the P and J style pickups, the added bottom of the Phat ll circuit, the sleek design of it's neck, the comfortable fretboard action, the finnish and the light body weight all made me very happy, even as a veteran player who's used many much more expensive basses through the years. I would recommend this to anyone who plays.

I love this bass. Its just right for the beginner or pro. Its very light weight and has the thinner kneck as for it is a JAZZ BASS. I have shorter fingers so its just right. It wont work to good for tall long armed and fingered players to good though!! HIGHLY recommend this!

I was looking for a bass to start out with. A good friend, who learned guitar from Tommy Jefferson, who learned from Curley Fletcher himself, recommended Ibanez. He said it was entry level stage quality at a beginner's guitar price. He was spot-on! My primary instrument is the Great Highland Bagpipe. Strings are odd to me. But this bass is a pleasure to hold, and the fretboard fits my hand like a glove... And it sounds great too! What else could one ask for? for the price? A beginners-priced bass, that you wouldn't be ashamed of taking on stage if you decide that bass is your cup-of-tea. Rock-On, Blues! Rock-On! p.s. This is a very great looking bass. It is darker than the picture but that is even better than what I was expecting. It sounds very nice. It feels great in hand. I highly recommend this if you are looking for something that is easy on your budget. It's worth it!
