this guitar has it all, the clasic fender tone, looks, very nice hardware, oh, did i mention this guitar also sounds and plays amazing, the pick-ups are phemonal, the special switch adds the bridge pick-up witch acts like a boost, totally awesome for leads, this guitar is great for rock to metal, it nails pink floyd stuff(as it should, lol) sounds pretty good doin jerry garcia stuff too, like the early years, all in all, if you would use a strat on a certian piece, this one would be the one i would want to use, even stays in tune using the tremolo/wammy bar, i reefed on it real hard, im really impressed with that, if you can afford it, buy it, even better if you can get a deal on one used on ebay/craigslist, like i did i own: 1972 gibson les paul model gold top-grover tuners-tune-o-matic bridge-semour duncan pick-ups(amazing) 1978 gibson the paul(yeppers, the paul-wood finish) 1998 gibson les paul custom black beauity tripple humbucker(very nice tone-hot pick-ups) 2010 fender stratocaster custom david gilmour(very nice fender tone-hotter pick-ups) fender acu-ele dc-20-ce?? cutaway(black in color)Read full review
I am an amateur guitar player by all stretches of the imagination, but absolutely love guitars. I have seven in my collection, and this is one of the nicest guitars I have. My opinion is probably swayed by being a lifelong Pink Floyd fan, and wanting to have a link (in name only really) to the band. I've had the guitar for a few months now, and must say that I am very pleased with it. The only issue I have with it now is that the 6th string intonation is way off. I've tried adjusting the bridge, using several books, online instructions and videos, but it just won't come in to tune (intonation). It is disappointing to play, as the amount of tune that it is off is quite noticeable and has precluded me from playing it lately. I will take it in to my local guitar shop and see what they can do with it. Hopefully it will be playing great again soon.Read full review
I have owned a few Stratocasters and this is by far my favorite! This has classic Fender tone and the bridge pickup is tons of fun! This gives you the tone of any guitar hero that plays a Fender. In addition, if you like Jerry Garcia, the middle pickup can give you his 71-72 tone as well. The shielding really keeps the single coil buzzing down to a minimum. The short tremolo is easier to manage and stays in tune. I do notice I have to change strings more frequently. The pickups are amazing!!! This has quickly become my guitar of choice and highly recommend even if you aren't a Pink Floyd fan.
