I'm very picky on distortion pedals and just love the tone of this. It sounds great through my solid state VOX pathfinder amp. Very tube like. A nice crunch but not overly so. I'd prefer it to have channel switching but you can always buy two since they're fairly inexpensive. I prefer 'series' (one stage pushing the other) over 'blend' (you decide how much of each gain stage is added to your signal) but great tones can be achieved with either. Bass boost seems useless. Love the battery cover, the option to turn the knob lights off. Not crazy about their choice of the main power light jewel color but that's nit picking I suppose. Not for metal but can do just about anything else and great string separation on chords.

Priced great. The build quality is great, battery door may be a weak point over time but seems good. Tone is stellar. Really tweakable, sounds great thru both my Tech 21 Trademark 60 1x12 and my Randall Diavolo tube combo. Can do some metal but thats best accomplished running into a dirt channel. Into a clean channel its a great hard rock pedal. 80s 90s tones all day long. The low gain side is very much like an overdrive and can boost an amp well. Super low noise.Lots of tone options for very little cash. Its a keeper.

I've been looking for the sound this pedal produces for ages and it's finally here. Sounds great with all of my guitars and is extremely adjustable for different types of pickups. My only (minor) complaint is that it didn't come with a battery and, having bought other pedals in this series, found that the LED lights on the knobs have different brightness levels from pedal to pedal. I can live with it though as the sounds I get from this pedal are amazing and, honestly, I could have purchased anything out there but chose these.

I was a little surprised that Fender put out a distortion box I actually liked. Of course, I'm a fan of their amp's clean tones-but not so much for the distortion they have provided us in the past. I especially liked the girth and the solid overtones produced the Pugilist. The only thing I wish was that it could run off of a 9v battery. I've tried so many drives lately Original Fulltone Fulldrive II, Sparkle Drive, Boss Super Distortion, list is endless - and these don't work for me. I'm keeping this drive - it's all good and not expensive too.

Fender Pugilist Distortion pedal is an excellent choice of distortion pedals. One of the features that I really like is the blend. Having this as a new set is even great. Everything is included and the delivery was quick. Not to mention it works perfect.
