Likes: Quiet, fast, light, great sound, insane battery life, affordable, easy to use, BIG SCREEN! Needs work: As with all Chrome products, a bit on the clunky side. Touch pad clicks are too loud-poeple in other room can hear the clicking. Icon sizes in toolbar at the top of screen are too small and can't be enlarged. All in all, if you like the Chrome platform you will like this computer. It's not a Macbook, but it also does not set you back finacially like a Macbook. Between this and the 14" screen, I would probably stick with the 14" because it is more on the portable side. The 15.6" is more suitable for the desk with occasional portability. But that's just my own prefference.

Update 7-2018. I’ve had this machine for over a year now. It has been very good. They did release Android play store for it as well as pinch to zoom on the trackpad. So it does everything (other than touchscreen) the new models do. It also has an upgradable SSD. I made mine 128GB instead of 16GB. No problems with that upgrade either. All of the newer models from Acer have soldered in Flash of a different type so they are not upgradable. Original review. This is a really nice machine. Arrived as new, plenty fast, nice 1080p screen, good enough battery life and light weight for its size. One negative is that they are not planning on releasing android play store for this model. That is annoying, other less capable chromebooks are getting it. Still this is a very good machine especially for the price.Read full review

I bought this to use as primarily a video streaming laptop. Due to it being a Chromebook, it is new to me, and I am figuring it out. I am finding out I have to clear the cache with regularity to get the videos to stream properly if I watch more than a few. I am not impressed with the 4gb RAM, and think it needs more. Other than that, if you use Chrome and Gmail, it is a fairly easy thing to use. Keyboard is a bit different than normal, and you need to use the "alt" key to be able to right click and to cap lock, but other than that, it is ok. For the price, I am fairly pleased. The speakers are kickass. I mean they are so good, sometimes I have to turn the sound down-unheard of in laptops, in my experience. Also, the screen is nice and clear. It is made by Acer, and I have a 7 or 8 yr old Gateway (same company now) and it still is going, so I am pleased with the feeling of a sturdy machine here. I would give this an 8/10. The price I paid summer 2017: $220 plus tax was very reasonable in my opinion and why I bought this instead of a Windows.Read full review

Very good unit. Perfect for my application. 3rd Acer I purchased, all 100%. Recommended if you know the difference between Chromebooks and Windows PCs. I love the simplicity and reliability- it just works.

Previous reviewer incorrect, this model WILL be getting google pay apps, just google it. Fast for a 2 core 1.5 GHZ Celeron, no lag at all. Love the OS and unit overall form factor. My unit looked brand new (still had plastic film on it). Awesome HD1080 display. Loud speakers too. 16GB HDD small BUT I added a 64GB mini Samsung USM external drive for files, media (movies) etc for $17 (amazon). SSD is upgradeable, but I dunno why you'd do that since USB memory is so cheap. Mini usb sticks out like about 1/4" (minimal) and works well for file transfer from computer to computer with the external USB drive. One problem is SD card sticks out about 3/4" when inserted and gets caught on things whereas mini usb dongle is not obtrusive (white samsung usb drive matches laptop nicely, not that it matters, but it matches fwiw). Anyway, main point here is A) This is a GREAT chromebook, I'm hooked and B) Google play apps are coming to it in the near futureRead full review
