probably a 9 year old or so laptop-- but I am partial to the Dells .... this particular unit had 3 gigs of memory and no hard drive. It had a battery which gives a little over an hour running time (not great by todays standards), Display quality was great. I installed a 32 GB solid state drive. The solid state drive really makes a difference. And I recommend either PepperMint Linux or Lubuntu Linux both based on Ubuntu 16.04 this makes the thing really quick and totally modern. The unit had a piece missing in one corner , but no effect on operation. Totally happy with this purchase.

I did expect to receive old/dead battery so it was okay to receive this pc with non-chargeable battery. But it did not work with brand new battery I purchased for this. It works as long as the AC is plugged in but it never works without the AC. It is so much bother and costly to return this extremely heavy laptop to GA for repair. It is a cheap laptop and you get what you paid for. I will never purchase refurbished computer again.

This is a solid, well constructed notebook. I drive truck sometimes coast-to-coast so for me, the advantages are: 1.)It is rugged. The cab of a truck is no place for fragile.(I used to have a Dell E4300 13.3" that I took on the road but it proved to be "fragile".) 2.)It has a modem for dial-up to my Juno account. (Yes, it may be hard to believe but, there are still LOTS of places where there is ONLY dial-up.) 3.)It has 2 well placed USB ports on both sides. 4.)Bright, clear screen. 5.)I have the extended battery and get about 4 Hours life. The Disadvantages for me are: 1.)The display is only 32MB. Youtube is a bit jerky. 2.)I have 3GB RAM, but still not as fast as I would like. 3.)Keyboard is "softer" (almost spongy) than I like.
Why go without a computer? Don't close your eyes to a refurbished electronic item. Many times it works better than a brand new one. This is the case with this laptop. It may not be the lightest laptop around, but it performs the way it should. If you have limited funds and need a computer, fast, pick up one of these for less than $150!
