Absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. Not a single weak track among them. And the five bonus tracks are just as good, if not better, as the original songs and alone are worth the price of the CD. If you have not yet heard the Japanese version with 5+ tracks, what are you waiting for? Anyone remotely a fan of this band ought to pickup a copy without delay. I am sure you will be blown away from the first listen, and equally enjoyable after repeated play. Version Reviewed: East West AMCY-943 1994. Includes 5 bonus tracks: fine line // i go blind // almost home // where were you // use me (live). 16 tracks total. (JAPANESE EXCLUSIVE)
This was Hootie & the blowfish's finest hour, Again every song on this album is a hit, and when I listen to his album and the songs and lyrics most of which were writtten by darius rucker ( hootie) I have to wonder why such a drastic change of venue? They were so uber popular and yet Darius was craving the country music scene and there went what could have been one of the greatest bands in history, This cd is ( even after 20 years on billboards top 10 best selling albums of all times, feel free to look that up, its 100% true, and while Darius Rucker has went on to a soaring country music songster, I always wished he would of tried to do both. This album is magic in a bottle and the numbers prove it. Wonderful album wonderful songs
A Great Band, Great Debut Album ...!!! I went to college at the University of SC, where Darius and crew got their start playing the local scene at "Five Points" - the place where all the bars/clubs around campus are located. Listening to the album again takes me back to my college days and reminds me of all the times I would see their flyers up on campus when ever they had a gig!!!
I bought this cd for a friend, and since it was a used item,I listened to see if there was any damage. I had heard of this musical group, when they were really popular in the late "90s, so I took a second look and listened to their music. I really enjoyed it and will be purchasing one for my music library. The price was very reasonable for the amount of popular tunes that this particular cd offers. I recommend this cd for all the music lovers who want a "downhome, bluesy band to listen to when you just want to relax and chill with friends on the weekend over a few beers and a good barbeque. Hootie and the Blowfish will fit right in.
Bought the CD because I'm a fan of the band--it's a good CD if you like the band. Definitely a 90's softer rock feel to it. Listens easily, great relaxing and even driving music for myself but that could be just me. Get the CD if you like the band. It's great. The only thing I could think to say I dislike is the booklet's lyrics are a bit hard to read, and that's not really a complaint because you can always look them up online. :')
