I have used Logitech Trackball's for many years and have always been pleased with them. I have worn out at least four of them. After a few years the plastic parts under the buttons become worn and the buttons don't work right. I won't know about this new model for a few years (hopefully), but it does have some great upgrades. The new USB dongle receiver is very small and unobtrusive. They have also included a couple of extra buttons for "forward" and "back" on the browser... very handy. I have always loved the ergonomic design of these trackballs. They are very comfortable to use. Though the footprint might be a little larger than a standard wired mouse, the fact that it can be in a stationary position or held in your lap, makes it a much more versatile tool. I love controlling the cursor location with my thumb. It just seems more natural than other types of trackballs. Finally, I like the new colors better than the old model.Read full review

Sadly, I'm addicted to this style mouse. I used the wired version of this one for many years before they stopped making it. This is the second one of these type that I've had. I'm not quite as happy with Logitech's quality or price these days, but I still needed this mouse. While this mouse is functional and ergonomically pleasing for me, it wears rapidly. The momentary contact switches used in this mouse begin to malfunction within one year. I usually keep the good switches from older mice and use them to refurbish this one so I don't have to shell out another $30 each year. Also, the blue ball and the contact points that it rolls on eventually begin to wear to the point the mouse movement becomes problematic. There's no fix for that except purchasing a new one, unfortunately. My guess is Logitech has these manufactured in China and shipped to the U.S. for a cost of about $2.00 each. Charging nearly $30 for it retail is hardly what I'd consider "honest profit." Myeh... it is what it is, though. This may be my last one of these, though. I'm going to have to get used to a regular mouse again. I have a box full of them out in my shop. The price is right.Read full review

Pros: Easy to use, Trackball moves smoothly, Wireless, Space Saving Cons: Strain on the thumb joint Logitech is the only brand I will buy anymore for a computer mouse because they are always a good value and quality, and this mouse is no exception. This style takes a little getting used to if you have been using a regular mouse, but once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use. Having limited desk space, I also like this mouse because it can stay in one place and doesn't need to be moved around, and it's wireless. Battery consumption is not high, one fresh battery lasts quite a while. The only complaint I really have is this: While a trackball mouse works very well to relieve strain on the wrist, extended use does cause some discomfort in the thumb joint. After working on the computer for around 5 hours, I started to notice some soreness. Light computer use doesn't have the same effect, just prolonged use.Read full review

I have several of this type mouse control and find them easy to operate and no moving and readjusting on the desk top. The ball has to be removed once in a while if the area is dusty to clean the sensor otherwise it works just fine. The battery seems to last for months, can not fine any fault with it. Some people have a problem using this type of mouse but it seems its due a smaller hand or using the thumb a lot tires their hand, I like it and will not go back to a corded mouse.

I was introduced to the Logitech trackball around the turn of the century. Then it was called the big red marble, I guess because when you first saw it there was this big red marble encased in a lite tan housing. they have sense changed to the blue ball and changed the ergonomics, which is not to my liking,, but nothing stands in the way of progress...I dislike a mouse for several reasons.. you are always running off the pad, or bumping into something. this device takes all that away. 1st. you don't have to move this trackball ever. 2nd. you use the blue marble with your thumb which takes the place of moving the cursor. you have the same two buttons to select or open a program 3rd you have a scroll wheel in the middle. 4. it has a forward or back or back button on the right side to ease you browser surfing. .. I hope this helps someone. I look on this device just like my guns. some can have it after they pry it from my cold dead handsRead full review
