“Tekken 6” is the sixth installment in the Tekken franchise. Past protagonist Jin Kazama emerges as the antagonist in this title. After wrestling away control of the Mishima corporation from his family, Jin declares war on the world. This declaration of war plunges the world into chaos as warfare erupts on every continent. When Jin announces a new King of the Iron Fist Tournament, fighters from around the world enter to try to stop him. This Xbox 360 title features a variety of gameplay modes. The main mode is the Scenario Campaign one. This mode plays out like a 2D, side scrolling action game and lets you experience the story in a new way. In it, you can pick up weapons to damage your enemies, such as guns and knives. You can play this story either alone or with a friend via the online co op feature. Classic modes, such as Vs. and Arcade, make a return in this game as well. Single player fans can find a wealth of content in this Xbox title. Like other games in the franchise, multiplayer plays a large part in this title. Up to 2 players can play either online or offline, and you can battle your friends locally or globally using the Xbox Live servers. The ESRB rated “Tekken 6” T for Teen due to violence, mild language, suggestive themes, and crude humor.“Tekken 6,” like past games in the series, features one on one fighting. Each fighter has their own unique moves that they can string into combo attacks. No two fighters battle the same in this title. This Xbox 360 game features over 30 fighters, which are a mix of new and returning characters. Fans of the franchise can enjoy being able to play as past stars like Paul Pheonix, Yoshimitsu, and Lee. Fresh characters include an android, Alisa, and a matador, Miguel. One of the systems introduced in this Xbox 360 fighting game is the Rage system. When the health of a fighter gets below a certain point, that fighter will do more damage. The bound system is also introduced in this game. This system allows players to juggle opponents off the ground, setting up for some extreme combo opportunities. Each fighter features accessories you can use to customize them. This customization system is deep, giving you the ability to change almost every aspect about a fighter. “Tekken 6” features the graphics engine called the Octave Engine, which developers utilized to emphasize smooth animation with the Tekken games, even going so far as to completely redo a character's move set. The result is fighters who can move realistically and look good both in motion and standing still. In addition, the action in this Xbox title always runs at 60 frames per second, which looks amazing with its 720 pixel HDTV resolution.This Namco title can be an excellent choice whether played alone or with friends. There can be hours of gameplay here with a large number of campaign modes and the huge roster of fighters. they sent us tekken 5. i'm not complaining because i love both games, but it was the wrong product so i can't give it a 5 star rating. great game and well worth the money even if it was wrong. arrived on time with no damage.

Still the best Arcade fighter on console.
-This game has solid mechanics, though you may find yourself in more of a paper rock scissor match from time to time. This is mainly for the fact that you will learn when you use a low, mid, or high attack. -The concept is simple, and game is quick to learn, one joystick for controls, and 4 buttons. It will surprise you how complex moves can become with experience from such straight forward controls. -Lots of characters, lots of great characters and models to go with it. Good backgrounds, nice visuals, good animations, except sometimes you may be able to land an upper cut to someone who is on the ground and cause them to do a backflip since you hit them so hard.. other then that solid animations. -High replay value, which is a good thing since arcade mode is short as ever ... -This game has solid mechanics, though you may find yourself in more of a paper rock scissor match from time to time. There are very few people who still play this game online, and they are not so nice, and most are pro. So be ready for someone to keep you on the ground, and stomp your skull over and over never letting you get up, and then tell you how bad you suck. If you can handle that, you may enjoy it online.... I just like the local multiplayer.. Ultra Hard CPU players, and local friends is the way to be. Worst community ever... except UFC 2009, and Fight Night Round 3. So I take that back, third worst community ever. Its a great game. For the price it can be had now in 2011, if you haven't tried it, and your a fan of the genre, nothing should hold you back, unless you want a lively online community to play the game in. That is harder to find. Graphics: 4 of 5 Gameplay: 5 of 5 Sound: 3 of 5 Core Mechanics: 5 of 5 Offline Game Modes: 4 of 5 (No tutorial and one could go a long ways) Online Game modes: 5 of 5 Hope this series comes back in 2011 or 2012 and stays just as solid.

This is the first installment on the next gen consoles, so expect the obligatory graphics upgrade, new characters and more refined balancing. Cons: The load times. If you got the HD space, I recommend doing a full install. Also, despite being a next gen system, the graphics aren't as big of a jump from Tekken 5 that I would expect. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the campaign mode. Final Thoughts: If you are a fan of the Tekken series, this deserves to be in your collection. New comers will enjoy this game as well. Tekken 6 is a great virtual fighter, just like its predeccessors, but it doesn't have that same charm to it. The graphics are great and the characters are still fresh and hilarious, but it just doesn't feel quite like a Tekken game. That's mainly because of its lack of constant fun, and the fact that it is disappointing. For instance, the scenario campaign is a fun little diversion, but it has an unpredictable difficulty and just-plain-odd storyline, unlike previous Tekken games. The multiplayer still rocks though, and so does the arcade mode. Online is patchy, but nonetheless fun. If you are a fan of the Tekken series, you will not be disappointed. This new release feels true to the Tekken line up and has 40 characters to fight with. The options for customization of your characters is a nice addition. There are a lot of options for offline and online game play, and gives this game high re-playability. The only complaint I can give is that the graphics are not up to par with what I expect out of newly released games. I play Tekken on a HD 1080p LCD television, and the graphic quality is not comparable to other games I am playing.If you are a fan of the Tekken series, you will not be disappointed.
