Out of the box the screen image will be overly bright, and colors push towards to blue side of the spectrum. Once you take the time to calibrate the colors, brightness, and settings, you can get very deep blacks and warmth in images. Take your time, as this is a fairly involved process. I used a couple of online resources to calibrate mine, which can be found with a google search. Great images, but do yourself a favor and pick up a nice set of speakers to go with it.

First let me state that I bought this product From the Vendor Newegg. That was my 1st mistake! My older Vizio had stopped responding to its remote and the remote control was working. After setting up the unit I Noticed that there were 3 or 4 DEAD PIXELS in the main viewing area. When I contacted Newegg about this problem they responded by tell me that as Many AS 8 DEAD PIXELS WAS ACCEPTIBLE! (NOT TO ME!) There are also 2 other main problems with this TV 1st the Sound. There are 2 Rear facing Speakers this makes the sound Very wimpy and causes an unwanted echo effect and I now need to listen to the tv at a Much higher volume setting than I used on my older Vizio TV. The older Tv work good at Volume setting 30-33 This newer Tv now need to be at least at 42-45 and still can be higher if there is any Background noise around? The Second Sound issue is again with the rear mounted/Rear facing speakers and this somehow causes an out of Sync issue with my home theater system Making the echo effect even worse. This cannot be made to Sync the Voices of the Tv sound with that of the Home Theater system I have no matter what settings I use. However turning off the Tv surround and the True Volume did seem to reduce this a tiny bit? The only way to make it at all tolerable was to turn off the Tvs speakers completely which of couse need to be reversed to listen to any program without using the home theater system. As to the picture quality? Its better than my older 1080p but again same thing as the older tv if you dont have the HD signal then a standard Definition picture is worse than it is on the older Standard type TV. So my advice is if you dont want to upgrade your cable or other services provider to HD Content? Then do waste your time and money on the 4K tv and just get a Decent 1080p HD flat screen ok? Hope this is helpful to You? Back to my Rant AGAINST THE VENDOR NEWEGG? THEY SEEM TOTALLY UNWILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE DEAD PIXELS AND I personally will never ever buy any product from the vendor Newegg again in my lifetime!Read full review
