Handy little Handycam that does the job!
I wanted a Camcorder for setting out to do some Paranormal Investigations as I am part of a team now. One thing that I did want was a full-spectrum camcorder, but also wanted power as I might be in the middle of nowhere. I have a Canon Legria HRF206 but this does not have any extended life batteries available and only lasts 1h 20 mins at most. So opting for Sony Handycam and I am glad that I did! Clear LCD screen with OSD functions that are easy to use (although had to download a pdf copy for extras) and quite simply it rocks! Upon purchase of this one (it was an ex-demo with two batteries - 1 standard and 1 extended) I checked out the battery life but was unhappy that both batteries were not Sony ones but imitations ('H' series versions), however they last 1h 30 mins and 3h 10 mins on full HD quality continuous recording so would expect them to last longer on standard definition... although would expect even an ex-demo to have its original 'Sony' battery attached. I did end up buying Sony batteries (NP-FV70 and NP-FV100) both should reach 7h and 14h respectively on the upgraded 'V' series. This camcorder did come with wide-angle lens, power adapter/charger and usual AV and USB cables and hand-strap so can't complain at all - and wouldn't anyhow. So was this worth the money? Good rating as it is an older product but as the newer camcorders are phasing out Nightshot mode except the more expensive ones it is worth it. Speaking of Nightshot - the built in IR illuminator is okay but not that great for seeing everything. I bought several IR illuminators to compliment this and WOW... everything is now clear as day - even more so with the use of additional UV illuminator! So would recommend others out there with Sony Nightshots to buy additional IR and UV illuminators. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes if it was still in production, but for a Sony product I would deffo recommend without hesitation!Read full review

After looking for this camera for a while, I am very pleased to have this one. It looks great and works a treat. As yet I have not needed or have used all its features, but am looking forward to doing so. Came with all as described, having only to purchase a new battery for the remote, but I have no problems with this. My new movie editing software recommended this camera and I am pleased to say they both work together without any problems. I am vey pleased with this camera
