This is the basic book on economics. Over the years I have given away dozens of this book. The book isn't full of complicated formulas or unusual vocabulary words. Every recipient found this tome about the free market to explain how the economy should work.

Mr. Hazlitt guides the reader through all of the unintended conciquences of government intervention in business and labor. His discussions of the effects of a mandated minimum wage is playing itself out now in many major metro areas on the west coast this year. The war against personal savings by our current artificialy low interest rates are explained years before they came to pass. Subsidies and bail-outs of industries are analized. If more people had basic knowledge of how economics works, politicians could not lie to people as they do today. This book touches on a lot of day-to-day topics that everyone talks about without understanding anything. If you are willing to read it, you will be able to understand your reality much more and, able, to make the people around you begin to question why things happen the way they do. Thank you Mr. Hazlitt
