Easy to use: just insert it into your bathtub drain (mine is 1.5") and let it work. I clean mine every 3-4 days and it does catch hair. Since it's silicone, it flexes so hair removal is very easy. One suggested improvement: The chrome cap is secured by a single rivet, which allows it to swivel and close off the 4 top vents. Using two rivets would prevent this.

I have a regular shrrom I have been using in the tub for several years, working great but gets discolored over time. This one is a more cosmetic version that matches with the faucet, the only difference is a Chrome colored cap that snaps onto the clear colored silicone shroom. The top diameter of this cap is actually bigger than my previous shroom, so it looks a little out of place. BTW that thin metallic cap snaps off if you are not careful with it, and not so easy to put back on.
