I have two old garage door openers (1988) that are very hard to find transmitters to work with. I had another brand keypad that is difficult to program. One still works. the other one stopped working years ago and this is the first replacement I have found that I would try. It is easy to program with good instructions to set the DIP switches. It works with almost any brand of the older openers. Settings include signal frequency (found on a tag the motor), Brand of opener and either code switches to match those on the motor or "learn" signal for slightly newer models. Programmed in 5 minutes. My only issue is that it uses button style batteries instead of the easier to buy 9V or AA cells. A small, insignificant issue. I would buy this again and may replace my second unit.

Once I figured-out the proper program procedure for my 'antique' Sears Craftsman opener, things went fine. My opener has BOTH a white 'learn' button AND dip switches in the old remote (but not on the receiver). Hence, I was a little confused about which setup procedure to use...the 'learn button instruction or the dip switch instruction. As it turned-out, I needed the dip switch procedure. Now, all is well! I wish the manufacturer would use standard AAA cells instead of the pair of CR2032 button cells, just for convenience. That is my only negative about this unit.
