I installed a Synology RT2600AC router for the ease access to top level technical control of my local network. I have a detached garage about twenty feet from the router installed in a closet in my ranch home. Wireless surveillance camera (Reolink RLC-423) started dropping out. I bought this MR2200AC to take a mesh network terminal out into my garage and connect the Reolink to it with an ethernet cable. Instantly got back my reliable network connect to the remote camera. One thing I did NOT like: After programming the MR2200AC as a mesh network extension and reboot the system, I found it had renamed my XXX wifi home network to "XXX_5G" and "XXX_2.4G" and I then had to reprogram ALL my devices to look for the new network broadcast names. Huge hassle. A little notice from Synology this was going to happen would have been nice.Read full review

This is a great way to beam your network over wirelessly and has Ethernet ports so you can add a switch and LAN. It also doesn't show up as a separate network. Its just one continuous network. I do love this but it was a little pricey.

Excellent for a mesh system. Seamlessly integrates with the router and other 2200’s. Really improved my whole network over the old Linksys I had. Highly recommend.

I’ve been running the Synology 2600ac router for a year now and added the mr2200ac to make my second floor more reliable. I’ve been overly impressed at how easy this thing was to install and how reliable it has been. Love it.

I’m still experimenting with the best location, but this was very easy to set up and is part of a very secure system. Maybe not the fastest option, but the security is worth it.
