I collect M42 cameras and there for I have seen and used some in my life. The Bessaflex without a doubt blows them all away. It fits in your hand, its small and light, but does not feel cheap, feels sturdy. The viewfinder is super bright, slightly brighter than my Spotmatic. The splitscreen and fresnel glass really make focusing easy, even if your eyesight is not good (like me) you can focus with your longer lenses without a problem. It was in production from 2003 to 2007 (black was discontinued in 2006). So its a fairly new model when comparing to older screw mount camers. The shutter is a light metal made vertically moving and mechanically controlled. This means it needs no batteries to function and is very silent. The batteries are only needed for the metering system. Infact it takes LR44 batteries and these are sold in every local store. The metering system itself has very fast reaction and only meters the spot in the center, this is probably the best metering system out there. The metered results are shown in the viewfinder on the left side via three LEDs. This camera is my favourite 35mm camera and I will never sell it.Read full review
