very powerful. i have 4 sets. 2 are hooked up to one tv with splitter and 20ft cords, and sounds as good and loud as Bose sourround sound systems. my living room is 24x13 and the two sets vibrate the room w/o distortions. as it ages, the screws do loosen so make sure to tighten screws. I've had my first set since 2001 and now in 2016, works great and no signs of loss of sound. The white set matches the living furniture while the black set is hidden behind couches

If you’re the type of person who desires more power out of your speakers than sound quality, then the ATP3W's probably aren't for you. Only packing 6 watts a piece, the satellite speakers have much better sound quality than power. Each satellite contains two 28mm tweeters, a bottom-firing 3 in "mid-bass" speaker, and the right satellite houses separate volume, bass and treble controls. The sub powered with 18 watts is housed in an attractive wooden enclosure measuring 12 inches by 8 inches. If properly placed the unit is capable of providing terrific bass. This combines with the attractive sleekly designed compact satellites to create a rich sound with outstanding separation and adequate detail. Although discontinued but still available for under $60 this is one of the best midrange speaker values anywhere period. My only minor complaint, there is no headphone jack.Read full review
Altec Lansing made a great model here. I thought this system was so good I bought another one for my second computer. Clear top frequencies and deep, deep bass contribute to a full and round sound that is very very clear. The sound equals my big stereo set, with its big amp and wooden acoustic-suspension speaker unit. There are limits to its volume, but can do a lot with its 40 watts and it is fully capable of filling a room with orchestral tracks and is great with jazz. The full bass will render bass guitar, double-bass plucking and cello performances with lovely clarity. The little twin stick-like speakers don't look up to the task, but don't pre-judge before you hear them. The only trouble I had is hum. The bass unit hums unless you ground your computer. I have laptops, so I connect the screws of my serial or video port to ground and it clears up.Read full review
I originally bought new from a national retailer to replace the cheapies that came with my PC about seven years ago, they have survived two PCs and are still going strong. They have an unbelievable sound that rivals most of my other stereo equipment. I use them in the bedroom to play all the music from my PC. They have excellent clarity, deep, rich bass and plenty of volume. I like them so much I'm looking for a second pair to put on my other PC. Also, the separate treble, bass, and volume help even out any deficiencies in the media you are listening to. They are very stylish and don't take up much desk real estate especially with the hide away subwoofer. I highly recommend this product!
I had this for few yeas, and I very happy, many of my friends also bought this ,I do not play game ,so I don't know how a gamer might like it or not, but the fact is the sub is made of solid wood, which is almost impossible to find these days that makes a huge difference in quality of the sound
