These CPU's use more power than the top-tier E-series, but for just a few bucks I turned an end-of-life Rackmount server into a decent 8-core gaming box. Added a 1050ti (because of only pci-e power) and it runs pretty much everything. Was playing Fallout 4 before posting this.

Even though its an aged processor it still has some kick in it! No Hyperthreading, but it makes it up for its high base clock speed. And since its somewhat old, the price tag has dropped alot.

Works Great with my server T300. Cheap Powerful upgrade! Thanks much! For the price it works just fine, its hard to see a direct link in speed from a core 2 duo to a Xeon when you are using a DC as just a backup DC / DHCP. No storage or anything else yet. So we will see. As far as remote and on screen access is much quicker. Now i would like to upgrade the ram to 32!
there is absolutely nothing wrong with this cpu, runs amazingly well, too well in fact. i underestimated its power and it's too much for my heatsink and fan to handle, so i need to upgrade that, but other then that it's 10/10
