The HubPiWi for the Raspberry Pi Zero V1.3 is a marvelous little add on board. The only steps required for installation is to screw the board to your Pi Zero using the included screws. The ingenious design uses spring loaded contact pins to connect with your Pi Zero at 4 points that line up automatically when you mount it to your board. It just works instantly, no drivers to install or software setup to go through. I was able to use this for my USB keyboard and to connect to my wifi network on a brand new install of Raspbian. I was worried that it may not work on the initial run of the new system, but it worked flawlessly. I will probably pick up a couple more. They are really handy. I highly recommend this item to anyone who has a Pi Zero 1.3.

It does add USB ports and WiFi , But WiFi range is about 12 inches if you want anything resembling a stable connection . The PIC controller acting as a USB hub really struggles to keep any kind of data flowing when more than one device is used, And yes the wifi will count as one of those devices ( mouse and keyboard stutter , USB storage lag , and comical WiFi connection just causes the device to be a frustration ). It is a great concept , just the execution was not pulled off very well and you may be better off with another solution . Lots of other choices out there that will give a lot less headaches . Also the build quality on these boards is terrible to say the least ,At least the 3 that I have. I gave 2 stars because yeah they do work ( wifi at 1 foot away ) with a few annoying issues . If there was an updated version that fixes the issues , these boards would be the bee's knees . But in there 1.3 configuration , they are pretty much useless to me. On a side note , If i hook the board up to my PC windows will see the wifi adapter and it actually works across the house , So a lot of the wifi issues I believe are caused from driver issues with the raspberry pi kernels out there .Read full review
