I am not a Home Theater guru, but my family and I do enjoy watching a movie at home together and Marantz provides us that. The SR5011 replaced our SR5007 which was also excellent. The SR50111 is not too difficult to use, but I need the manual (in print). The On-screen display setup (and for changes) is good, but for a novice like myself, the manual is a must. The two-zone feature is a nice and we use it often; setting the pre-set tuner (radio) stations is a little awkward. The abundance of features are nice; the flexibility of the SR5011 is also excellent. The sound quality is top notch, but of course, you have to have decent speakers. I got about a 15% discount off of the list price which is good, but not great. What made this a really "good value" was that I was able to sell my SR5007 at a reasonable price to make this, for me, a "good" value.Read full review

This replaced a Yamaha RX-V1 , so I needed all the HDMI inputs and the set up of the Marantz was amazing! Very Easy to maximize the sound to your room. It even updated its firmware over the WI-Fi itself! Great sound and all the power you need for great theater sound and all kinds of music from FM to Digital, to BlueRay and Cds. You can even use it in 2 Zones if you want. A great amplifier system for the money.

Works great with my living room as of now in 5.1 cant wait to make my room a 7.2 and use zone 2 elsewhere in the house. I like its look alot, much nicer on the eyes than my old NAD.

Great sound and set up was fast and easy. The only negative and the reason it didn't get 5 stars is the lack of a dedicated phono connection. While another connection allows the turntable to work there is no way for Marantz to do it's electronic magic to improve the listening experience like it does with CDs and music from my ipod.

This receiver sounds great. I use it with mid-range JBL speakers and a mid level Polk audio subwoofer. The clarity and depth of the sound is really impressive. The bass was a little weak when I first did the setup. Unless you have a big boy subwoofer, I would recommend turning your gain down to 25% instead of the recommended 50% when running the audio calibration setup. After making that change the system can rattle pictures off the walls if you want it to. Explosions in movies feel intense, etc... The settings are super flexible. The info button allows you to see exactly what the audio source is coming in and what the receiver is decoding to and playing it as. That is really helpful and removes the frustration of not knowing if you are hearing the best sound your receiver can offer. That's also helpful to see if the problem is with your source or with the receiver.Read full review
