Although originally shipped with the "Early 2009" Apple Mac Pro4.1, the Apple branded ATI Radeon 4870 works perfectly well in a 2008 MacPro3.1. It is a good upgrade for the obsolescent 3.1 without the issues that often crop up with "flashed" PC video cards. It isn't the fastest card ever but a solid, stable and quiet performer.

Rewind 8 years ago. Two graphics chips (2GPUs). One card. And a whole lotta rendering muscle, that's the basic philosophy behind the ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2, AMD's ancient dual-GPU 3D card. When it works.

Much better performance when compated to the original XT2600. Very quiet as well. Worked perfectly for my 2008 Mac Pro.

My graphic card went out and I was in a scramble to find a replacement card. When I checked on ebay I found this offer. The card was delivered as advertised and got me back in business.
