Over all the K-1 that I bought as a floor display is OK. The only issue I presently have, like others I have read about in Lenovo discussion forums, is a download issue with apps. I had to reset the tablet to factory settings since purchasing this device. Other than that I think it is a good tablet for the money.

Very nice tablet with android, good value for the money. It has a nice front end and includes a variety of free apps. It is fun to use however my ipad (1st gen) is still a bit smoother and more refined. Android does have an advantage as far as flexibility and features (flash, sd card, gps, etc) but ipad os is smoother and more refined (less waiting, better user interface).
I've had this since November 2011. It has for the most part replaced my PC. I still use the pc for editing pictures. Everything else I want to do on a regular basis I can do with this from the comfort of my recliner or out in the yard (wireless router needed). The youtube application works better than the pc accessing the website. I've watched movies and TV shows with no problem. The speakers are small so there's only so much they can do. I use the earphones and the sound is fine. It has a sturdy feel to it. It doesn't feel like it's going to flex if you press to hard. I bought a case for it and it is really convenient to carry. I don't have to worry about the screen getting scratched. The screen display is quite nice but I would like a higher resolution and contrast in the next generation before I spend the money for an upgrade. I would also like the built in cameras to be upgraded before I buy. This tablet shoots video too which is pretty decent. The sound recording is clear. You can hear voices clearly, even in a moving car. I bought this because I liked the idea of a portable computer that could access the internet but I didn't want the tiny keyboard of the laptops. To me that's just a waste. I think the virtual keyboard is actually easier to use. There is an accessory keyboard for those so inclined. I like the way it feels. Sitting in my recliner or laying in bed it's just the right size, like holding a magazine. The battery life is really good too. I've used it for 9 months and I still get the same life out of every charge, about 12 hours continuous without sound, 8-10 with listening to internet radio while surfing. It goes for about 3-4 days continuous with low usage. Everyone thinks it's an IPad. I'm constantly explaining it's an IdeaPad. When they ask (and they always do) 'What's the difference?' I tell them it's not $900. It does not have a usb port but it does have the proprietary connection that let's you connect to a usb port and you can read and write to the tablet like an external hard drive using Windows. I haven't tried my Linux box yet but I will update this when I do. I don't like the native internet browser as much as I like the Opera browser and Dolphin browser for tablets. They're faster and easier to customize. This tablet offer so much for the money it can't be beat.Read full review
The Lenovo IdeaPad was probably a good tablet when it first came out. Durable construction, very responsive touch screen, and a decent selection of apps. However, the years have not been as kind as they have been for the HP Touchpad. The touchpad can use Cyanogenmod to run the latest Android version (Lollipop), the IdeaPad K1 has very limited support with decreased functionality compared to the Touchpad. Bottom line, if you have an HP Touchpad hand on to it. If you are looking for your first table spend the extra money for a newer one. The IdeaPad's life is probably nearing its end so stay away from it.
