I purchased this board used on November 16th from seller palm54 - it was exactly as described in the auction, and even without all the extras you'd find with a retail version I was able to get everything set up in a reasonable amount of time, and it was available at a very reasonable Buy-It-Now price. Actual Review: This board had all the newer features I was looking for - socket AM2/AM2+/AM3 support (with the latest BIOS update),4 DDR2 slots (16GB capable), 2 PCI-Express x16, 3 PCI-Express x1, 6 SATA ports, firewire, gigabit LAN, and 2 PCI slots along with legacy Floppy, PS2, serial, parallel, and IDE ports. It even has a regular 4-pin molex connector to provide extra power to 12V for PCI-Express (and may be required to use SLI). The board supports both coaxial and optical S/PDIF for those that have newer audio systems than I do, at the same time supporting both standard stereo & surround. It also allows BIOS updates through windows with the @BIOS program and was a lot easier to deal with than trying to use a floppy disk. I haven't tried any overclocking but this board allows overclocking of the CPU, RAM and GPU(s). Anything I didn't mention is covered in better detail in numerous reviews found with a quick google search. Overall it's running great with a Phenom x4 9550 (quad-core running at 2.2GHz), 4GB DDR2, 2 Sata Hard drives, 1 Sata DVD burner, and 2 GTS 250's (also bought used from ebay) installed in it - all powered by a Corsair Tx750W PSU (also bought used from ebay - from citino-sales).Read full review
Pros: Cheap, works Cons: (sorta) Couple of the pins were bent, so i had to bend them back with a flathead. The Bios had a password set so i had to take out the CMOS battery for 15 mins. Had to update the bios. Notes: Its what I expected and I knew how to fix the minor problems that came up.
Decent budget SLI board. Beware, it does not take all AM3 CPU's. Phenom II X4 965 will not work, but the 955 will with the BIOS update. Take time and goto the manufacturers page for a more detailed view.
One of the best gaming motherboards of the DDR2 era of computing! Supports SLI, up to 16GB of DDR2 800 Ram, socket AM2/AM2+/AM3 support
