The Alienware R3 is a Great system and is up-gradable using any off the shelf Micro ATX Board. Unlike so many OEM cases/systems the Alienware Brand is one of the finest, in my opinion, I have rebuilt two and upgraded two to today's Tech. One is even a DDR4 upgrade. The case itself is short but long... Because it is long makes up for its short stature, it allows for good air flow and added drives and components. The lights can be controlled by a Alienware Command Center that can be customized to anyone's taste... Yes even a off the shelf motherboard can be used to still use the Command Center. The Alienware Aurora R3 & R4 Case is the jewel of the bunch. - Roger
