I order this unit as a replacement for one that had gotten damaged (dropped on a hard floor). The only thing missing was the belt clip, but I was able to take that off of the damaged one. I'm very satisfied with the phone. I have two phone lines for different purposes with the base station and five linked phones in different locations throughout the house so I don't have to chase around to answer the phone. The Uniden is an excellent product with a lot of features that fits my needs perfectly. Unfortunately the price of these new has gone way up, so ebay to the rescue.

Sound quality is good, and features are easy to use. Registering a handset to the base is instant--just put the new handset in the base for a few seconds. The number keys feel solid and smooth; the jog-dial feels a little flimsy, but as long as it works and it holds up in use, I don't really care. Several features are missing, however. First noticed was that the system doesn't get the time from the caller-id information--you have to set it. Why???? The handsets don't show if the line is in use--which may be because you can use handsets which aren't involved in the online conversation for other things simultaneously, but I still like knowing if the line is available for me to place a call. Only three redial numbers are saved, which probably ought to be enough but isn't. A VERY minor annoyance: the charge light on the charger units stays red; on my older phone, it turned green if the phone was fully charged. Over all, good phone system.Read full review
We bought this phone to have a second extension for our office. The phone setup was easy and almost automatic. The phone works well and is very reliable. My staff and I like the new intercom we now have since we installed the phone. So far we haven't run into any features we haven't liked about the phone. We haven't tried any other brands to compare, but we definitely like what we got with both the Uniden base and the expansion handset. We are a very small office and this phone is a great addition to the team.
Phone works fine most of the time, get some noise(clicking sounds when in some parts of the house). Menu operations are somewhat confusing, but may just need to get use to the features that the phone has. Even though it says one line in the title it works as two line phone. (It depends on how you register the handset with the base) Bought the phone to use the two-line function. (One handset instead of two)
This model phone has existed for a few years. The TCX905 2-line handsets are easy to use and very reliable. I find one major problem: the round silver function key eventually will cease to operate while all the other keys work with ease. I have had to replace seven of these units in the past four years, all for the same problem. The problem is not handing the phones with wet hands. It is not dust that causes this. I feel it is the design. My reason for not recommending this model is purely because there are other manufacturers that do not have this handset problem.
