The Wii is now a couple of console generations behind the times but is still a great system despite the lack of power found in current Playstation or Xbox systems. Game graphics are beautiful on many games and it's a lot more Kid friendly than a PS4. The Wii is really a family games system. The unique Wii remote and nunchuck controllers are more comfortable in kids smaller hands and the ability to mimic the action in the game is. Wether playing table tennis or shooting a bow and arrow, you hold the controllers exactly like you would the real bow or ping pong paddle. Kids can actually get a lot of exorcise on a rainy or cold winter day by playing video games indoors, The Wii may not be the most powerful system on the block these days, but if you ask me it's still got a lot of life in it.

When I first heard of the new Nintendo Wii, I honestly thought that it would fall through much like the Sega Dreamcast. Over the years I've been wrong. I've played games on the Wii such as Wii Bowling, Deal or No Deal, and the New Super Mario Bros. Wii. The Wii really puts you into the game more often than the other gaming systems, because of the fact that you pretty much are the controller. I only bought this because my fiance' wanted one so bad and I had the money to buy one. I can say I'm glad that I bought it. The Wii is a great value and with some of the fitness games, it really gets you moving and you really do become more active.
It is very easy to set up. It is easy to play. Those are the PROS. The CON is you only get 1 controller and one thing called a nunchuk. So if your are a loner thats fine, but I'm sure most people have friends, so at mininum it should have came with 2 of each. I have a family so after this purchase I learned I need to purchase at least 2 other wii-remotes and two other nunchuks. The value for money is hard to answer, I got a decent deal on ebay, $99 for the Wii, but I'm going to spend another $100 getting basic necessities. At the end of the day, my son will be playing it so as long as he is happy I'm happy. Other family members mentioned the MJ dance game is good so I'll be purchasing that as well. Hope this helped.
I bought this system for the sole intention of soft modding it to be able to play games off my HDD. It turns out that I have turned mine into a full media center! I highly recommend finding a soft mod guide and "unlocking" all the features this system is capable of. You can easily find a guide by using a quick Google search. After adding an external hard drive, you can then play movies, emulators for any system (up to PS1), and if you add a PlayOn subscription you will then be able to watch TV live! Well worth the $100 I spent (don't pay more than that, search around for a deal) besides the fact that it's highest video resolution is only 480p (with separately purchased component cable available all over the internet).
I am not a gamer at all and have my own personal fitness regime. I bought this Wii for my son who suffered a brain injury back in April and has been doing outpatient physical therapy. One of the suggestions from the therapist was the balance games on the Wii Fit. Wasn't really planning on buying it but when I saw the offer for this Wii with the Sports, Sports Resort and the WiiFit, I thought, 'why not?' My price was accepted, (wish I had offered less but overall am happy with the price I paid, haven't seen it advertised for less around here)and I got the Wii within 4 days. The whole family uses it now, although my son still hasn't quite gotten into it-the best thing about it is my couch potato husband is now up and moving trying to best his scores. It is fun to do family bowling night and will be doing a challenge against my 7 yr old nephew and his superior Wii skills.Read full review
