If this board is a replacement product, then this board is perfect. But If one would like to build a system from scratch as I did, then this is not the board to buy. To start with it needs a special power supply made by HP. Standard power supplies do not work, special cables and connectors are used in the HP 8000 computer. Special cables are needed to hookup the Hard Drive and DVD units also. The Intel E8400 processor is standard, but the heat sink to cool the processor is special and non-standard, the mounting footprint is different. I made special brackets to mount a standard heat sink. A special power supply is needed, and the cables need to be lengthened to reach in a standard case. All the board tie down mounting screws are the same, thank goodness. I used an old HP case that I had hanging around. A standard case would have worked, but I had a old HP case that needed quite a bit of modification. Standard DDR3 memory worked perfect. For about seventy dollars the system was put together. I had the case, keyboard, monitor and mouse. bought the MoBo, 4gb memory, PS, CPU heat sink, DVD ROM, and special hookup cables. All bought on eBay and all worked great, I was tickled pink. Like I said before, if this is a replacement board then it is perfect, but if this is a system to be built by using standard computer parts this is not the one. After getting this system put together, it ran great with Windows 7 and is one of my fastest computer systems built on the cheap. I used my old Windows 7 product code from a HP system that was destroyed by lightening a few years ago. It worked and then after about a month of use Microsoft offered to upgrade the computer to Windows 10. Windows 10 runs great on this system. All in all I had fun cutting and extending cables, making CPU heat sink brackets, making case modifications and using my mind to solve problems.Read full review

Bios had to be updated using older cpu, then worked good with later cpu back in it. Board looked in nice shape, not used much or not at all.

First off, this is a BTX form factor motherboard, so you need BTX style components (when not standard). This is a good economy purchase, but not recommended if doing more then having a working computer.

This board replaced my HP 8000 Elite board that got fried with a rogue static charge. This motherboard was a perfect replacement. I swapped out the 2.93Ghz CPU with my 3.00Ghz CPU and it worked fine.
