Last generation of MacBook Pros that have upgradable RAM and Hard Drive. That means that for ~$200 you can have a full 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD Drive. It will also run Windows 10 as well as High Sierra. Plus it's fairly compact so it's easy to just throw in a bag. Unless you are desperate to have the absolute thinnest laptop imaginable or really need to have a beefy new CPU (that will probably be throttled down due to heat), save yourself a few thousand dollars and get one of these instead.

Fast delivery. The dent in the rj45 port didn't prevent the rj45 cable from connecting. The laptop was slow with the sata harddrive. To solve the lack to speed I took out the sata drive and installed a Samsung SSD drive and that made a major difference in the speed. I also turned off the internal wifi card that only goes up to 802.11n and connected a usb linksys 6400 usb card thats 802.11ac which matches my wifi linksys ac router. More speed. It's faster than it was before.

Tactile sense of the keyboard is very distinct and lets you know without looking that you have pressed the button. Overall looks and feels like an original keyboard. Installation is a bit tricky but what can I say it´s a MAC. Not really famous for the ease of replacing parts. I´m happy though. Well worth not sending it in to apple to have it replaced for 150€

Just added SSD and increased RAM to 16 GB, which I already had from old windows machine which is now unusable. Works great. Geekbench score around 9500, not bad for 6 yr old laptop. Retinal display is nice to have and non retina display does not bother me. Battery holding charge better than expected.

I purchases an Apple Macbook Pro A1286 15.4 inch Dual Core 2.93 GHz 4GB RAM, and it was just fine by me for my work use. It works fine at this moment, and I will replace few other parts such as Wifi Card and RAM for better performance. Some may concern that used products have problems for past use and damages, but if you only know parts are replceble you can just invest for additional margine which you can afford or seek nearby.
