Borrowed this scanner from a friend and loved it. I was able to find an affordable, gently used one and am very happy with the purchase. I have a couple thousand photos to scan; the scanner accepts every size and offers wide resolution choices. So far, I've been able to get by with 200-300 resolutions and I'm satisfied with the outcome. It is easy to set up and use...at this price, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering doing a photo scanning project. It would be great for document scanning as well (although I haven't tried it yet) and I look forward to using this product for a long time.

Got to replace same model. Plugged in Rollers need to be replaced— so much for low use— Page stop does not work— sensor arm is broke— the same issue I had with the current unit, the reason I was replacing. Unit squeezed like a rat. Hopefully the new $75.00 rollers I ordered will fix it. Are these things tested before selling? Disappointed

I needed a scanner for my office. I scan in letters, motions, documents and use the scanner to email the documents later or save to files. This scanner is a heavyweight piece of equipment, very very fast, very accurate, and very easy to use. There are a couple of shortcomings however. This first is that the scanner can not be accessed by every computer on my LAN, but must be connected to a dedicated computer, in this case, my server. So when we scan, we have to do it at the server. I am told that there is software becoming available through third parties that will correct this. The second issues is that when you scan with other than the regular default mode, say you need higher definition, it slows down a lot. Still, it is a great piece of equipment and I would buy it again in a minute.
Great Works Horse of a document scanner and is Twain Compliant. If you have document feed problems it might be the Roller needs to be replaced. If it has streaks you need to clean the scan window. It does Color and Grey Scale very well.

After nine years and a lot of use, my Epson GT-S50 scanner finally died. I immediately bought another one, used, I had liked it so much. It is simple to use, sturdy, & reliable. For black and white, gray scale, or color, from business cards to legal and larger (it can scan documents a wide as 8.5" and up to at least 20" or so, maybe longer, it does a great job. I rarely gush about a piece of hardware, but this is my workhorse scanner that I literally cannot do without.
