This is actually a very good product for the basics. It's not even cheap feeling. Good Solid Feel. Good for 20' to 30' of HDMI cable Output. Use it with that configuration and it's output signal is very clean and fine, good as HDMI to HDMI I/O. However, my home is wired with HDMI wall wiring. In my living room I/O distance is 52' w/5 F/F connectors. Using my home wired system I only get black screen output (No Signal/Check Signal Cable). I certainly like the product but it's more of a small room product. Works great w/30' or less of HDMI cable as best I can see......Now I'm appending my previous review and bumping up my recommendation. The previous still stands for the regular thin HDMI cables. I am now successfully using it on a 50 ft HDMI run and the signal output is great, but keep in mind my 50 ft. run is all 24AWG (really thick) premium Monoprice Net Jacket Cable. Use that stuff and I can verify that you should get a really good output on the display.Read full review

The cable has to fit perfectly in the VGA connector on my laptop and if you are not careful you will lose signal to monitor/tv. No directions on how to setup but a little fiddling around got it to work, problem was the poor VGA connection. I need a Vga to VGA to connect laptop to Monitor/tv and couldn't find one when I need it. I got one a a yard sale new for $1 dollar a couple of weeks latter and that solved the problem. The VGA to HDMI signal was poor and Using the VGA to VGA made for a sharper image and text.

This gadget works just as intended, but it sure would have saved me some time if came with a user manual. I had to try numerous different display resolution settings to just get something that would show on the TV screen. Start with 800X600 and then try different higher resolution settings to get something that displays, fills the full screen, and doesn't "lose" part of the image due to display cropping. I used this with a Linux OS netbook.

This item adequately converts VGA and stereo audio to HDMI and it does it fairly well with low latency. However, with higher resolutions (Full HD), the image gets kind of ghosty and blurry. At extremely low resolutions (like the ones used in text mode as a computer is booting up) the device doesn't even bother to try. I imagine it can only upscale the image so far. All in all, it's a decent converter, especially for this price.

I used to use my laptop with my 32" TV but, then my wife bought me a 58" which had no VGA input. Lamented my loss for a few months, then I saw this unit and my prayers were answered. Had to buy an HDMI patch cord and a couple of gender changers to re-use my old cables. I assembled the pieces and connected the two devices. Turned on the TV and the laptop. I Then selected the new source on the TV and everything works perfectly. Now I can play movies, stream video, and show my digital pictures on my BIG screen TV. I noticed one review that says the item only worked for a few days. 1 day gone and it is still working...I'm assuming I can add to this review later, so, one way or the other I'll report back on the longevity of this product in a few months. It's currently July 10, 2016. So far I'm very happy.Read full review
