I have to say I'm really disappointed that Korg decides to remove the RH3 graded hammer action from its successor SP280(probably because they think this function should go with a higher class of its products), so SP250 is the last type of keyboard with this graded hammer function. Comparing to my former keyboard, sp170s, which also has graded hammer action, SP250 offers more flexibility and choices (three types of reaction). Moreover, it includes more sounds (30) compare to SP170s (only 10), and allows you to synthesize different sounds. I especially like its stylish design, which is much better other competitors such as Casio or Yamaha. The only problem that prohibiting a full score is the scratching noise when you touch the keys, it is really loud if you do not turn the volume high. But overall, it is the best 88-key piano keyboard you can ever find with its advanced function and acoustic performance.Read full review
This older model of Korg piano is actually built better than the newest versions. It is incredibly heavy for a portable, and that alone tells you something of the quality. The stand is very solid and well-built to handle the weight of the instrument. The voicing is very good and sounds quite realistic. Plays very similar to an acoustic piano but you never have to tune. :) Meets my needs well for a used instrument.

From reading the reviews on this instrument, I thought it would be a good purchase for our church's praise team. The price was good, however it stops there. There is only one sound that is a quality sound and that is the organ sounds (sounds better that our old Allen Organ). The string choices are OK. The piano sounds are tinny; there is only one electric piano choice that sounds have-way decent. The touch takes getting use to. I have a heavy hand and when played heavyly (don't know if that's a word or not) all the sounds distort. Personnally I would not have bought it if I knew what it really sounded like. We got what we paid for.
For months I was looking for a great deal on a Korg SP170 or Yamaha P95 or 85, but kept hearing people say to spend the extra couple of hundred bucks on the SP250. When a refurbished one came online I grabbed it, sight unseen, and am glad I did. It feels more like an acoustic piano than anything I had tried, and the sound is realistic and has plenty of oomph with the built in speakers. The stand, which it comes with, is the sturdiest I have ever seen. Fantastic pedal. Also, it is much better looking in person than in any of the photographs I had seen. I have no regrets about buying a factory refurbished model, it looks and works as if it is completely brand new, and I saved about $150. In short, I am more than satisfied with the Korg SP250, and would reccommend it to anyone. One caution: It is heavy (supposedly 75lbs., I would say it is accurate), not something you want to carry around.Read full review
Truly big bang for the buck! Awesome sound and playability with true weighted keys. IMHO puts the new SP 280 to shame.
