All of my molds except for one are Lee. All of my molds cast great bullets, but the Lyman, cost me as much 30 years ago, as Lee molds do today, ( I also have Lee molds that are 30 years old!.) Great deal for the money. The only problem that I have ever had with Lee molds, is that the sprue cutter screw comes loose on some of them.

Ok, so I am looking for a .224" dia. mold in a 77gr BTSP to reload for 5.56x45mm Nato. I couldn't find one, so I bought this one. There are only two molds in this mold block, and because they are so small, the mold wont stay hot. You have to dip it back in the pot every 5 minutes or so. And because the bullets are so tiny, they don't fall out easily. I kept having to tap the mold on the corned of my water bucket to get them to fall out. But the aluminum seems softer with this one and the metal actually contorted out of shape to the point the mold couldn't close all the way. So now the bullets come out with mold seem tags. 200 casts and I'm already shopping around for a new mold.

All in all it works fine. I am having trouble with the gas checks on these. The base doesn't come out very flat and gas checks don't want to crimp on very good. Still playing with it and will look and see if I can find any info on this online. Forums are a good source of good info most of the time.

I've always been a fan of Lee products and this one is no exception. It's easy to use, easy on the pocket book and produces great results.

Didn't think I would have been as happy with the two cast mold but I can pour four times as compared to my six mold. The handles are great and they pop out really easy. I didn't smoke or wax the mold at all, just preheated it and didn't have but a couple that weren't perfect!
