    Great Adjustable Trigger vs Price

    I have owned several Timney Triggers and a few other brands to boot. The Timney Sportsman has proven time and again you do not have to spend a lot to achieve great function and reliability. The newer sportsman sports a blue paint job and refreshing trigger footprint similar to the featherweight model. The changes are a step up over the older sportsman and are welcomed. Let off, creep, and snap are smooth and crisp following trigger adjustment. Trigger can be adjusted 2-4 lbs which is great for quarter bore on up bolt guns. All this leads to outstanding quality for fair price. Keep in mind you will need to remove some wood in your stock if your replacing the stock military trigger.

    Misleading description

    This is listed as fitting a FN mauser 98. I’m sure it would, if it were specifically a COMMERCIAL FN bolt. Will not fit military FN actions. After more research, a Timney #202 trigger is needed for k98’s and military style bolts. The issue is with the cocking piece. The military style with the “V” notches will not cycle. Needs to be a flat/solid bar on bottom of cocking piece.

    Great Improvement

    Only had to remove some wood from the inside of the stock to accommodate the Timney unit. Used hand drill, a small wood chisel, and a few files to make the necessary room. Installation was fairly simple and straight forward. My early 50's Huqvarna's 640's trigger, which was horrible in creep, now has zero noticeable creep, and a good crisp break. It is like modern top of the line rifles in this category now. Should be a pleasure to shoot when I get it out to the range. This is a major improvement to my rifle, and should make it much more accurate via positive trigger control. Great investment!

    Timney Sportsman Trigger

    This trigger lives up to its' reputation. It fit my Mauser 98 action perfectly. The only adjustment I made was to set the pull weight to 3#. It was a little over 3# as shipped. I did have to inlet the stock for it to fit, which I knew in advance. Very happy with this product.

    Easy install, Crisp trigger break.

    This trigger was easy to install with no issues other than having to inlet the stock to take the new trigger configuration. Took about 15 min with small wood chisels. The trigger break is light and crisp with no take up or over travel. Easy adjustments for trigger pull weight and over travel. Good product.
