I hated the awful swat team wannabe collapsible stock that came on my DPMS Oracle. These factory stocks are typical for most AR15s from all makers and they are horrible for accurate shooting. The UTG A2 stock cures that shortcoming and at a reasonable price compared to Magpul offerings. It's stable....gone are the wiggles and non existent cheek weld associated with collapsible stocks. It is heavier but not cumbersome. Installation is easy and straight forward which is good because for whatever reason, UTG does not include any instructions whatsoever. It doesn't matter what kind of AR ph.D you might have, not everybody knows everything associated with assembling the components of the AR platform and a basic guide to assembly should be included. My AR was bought for coyote hunting and the fixed A2 stock is a definite improvement for that purpose. Magpul makes a fixed stock that I prefer but not at 3X the cost. I didn't find any imperfections in the example I bought...some folks complain about a mold seam...the majority of plastic products are injection molded and seam lines are a part of that process...but I didn't find anything objectionable on my stock. It is black and matches my other hardware perfectly. I don't like the fixed sling loop at the stock toe. I would prefer a simple stud or push button type attachment point. I guess if you're into GI Joe and want a 1967 look to your AR then the sling loop is perfect because it's a direct holdover from that era 50 years ago. As for the buffer spring BOING sound, I did apply a little grease to mine during assembly ...sparingly....and there is no noise. I'm quite happy with this stock, the only negatives being the fixed sling loop and lack of assembly instructions.Read full review

Conspicuous concave full length of stock on both sides about 1 inch below comb. This defect is known to Leaper's, now you know. Mold parting line full length of stock centerline. It is injected molded plastic so I guess it should look like it is injection molded plastic. You will need a padded vise and a proper fitting hollow ground bit to remove the retaining screw from the extension. There is just no reason for it being that tight for shipping. All in all it is probably as good as all the so-called made in USA stuff you can find today so that gets it a extra star and a good value rating but in truth the only thing that makes it that way is that it's competition is about the same. It is black rather than gray and it was cheap. I will use it until I can find a serviceable older USGI stock. Strength seems OK and it will function but it sure looks paint ball-ish, or toy like. I won't use this long nor would I buy another at any price. It wouldn't take much to make this a really good stock but I suppose that would have happened by now if they cared to. It pretty much represents what I expected so shame on me. Read full review

Overall very happy with this A2 style butt stock. Good Length of pull, all inclusive kit, assembled easily. Weight feels right, comfortable to carry and shoulder. It has the molded plastic "foam" insert inside, with hollow space for storage inside the trapdoor. Buttplate and trapdoor mechanism are polymer. Stock feels solid and rigid. Minor complaint: Trap door mechanism latch / butt plate fit and finish not so great, but adequate. I have seen other A2 stocks with the same condition, so maybe it is the norm. It is a utilitarian functional item for an AR15 after all. Again I am overall pleased and satisfied with this item.

I had enough of the sloppy adjustable stocks and wanted a decent A2 for my new build 50 Boewulf. This is extremely well made and fits perfect. I ordered another for my 6.8spc Delivery was fast and correct. As much as I try I can't find anything bad to say

I love my rifle's new "old" look. It completes perfectly the AR I was building, as I'd decided I wanted it to look like the one I carried as a young Marine in the early 70's
