Build is sturdy so this should last many years. The little plastic collets do not have positive storage and have already fallen off a couple of times so you'll need to find a safe place to store them or they'll likely be lost quickly. Because of the design of the collets this unit works great for bottleneck shaped brass but is a bit trickier to use with straight walled cases. The spent primer tube is also pressure fit so as it gets slightly worn over time I can foresee a point that it might flop loose from gravity and the weight of old primers, thus creating a small mess. Bottom line though. It's well built, convenient, and simple to use. That coupled with the price makes this a recommended product.

at first glance this looks like a useful tool, however there are serious shortcomings. the primer catcher falls off, scattering primers everywhere. the collets are fragile and the means of storing them is a joke. springs lose their tension after a few hundred cycles and the grip is not suitable for my hands

This is a great deprimer. Easy to set up, easy to use. I've used a depriming rod, mallet, and a block to deprime for decades, and that was the cheapest way there is. So as far as strictly dollar spent for what it does, this deprimer is not the budget winner. That being said, I can use this deprimer anywhere. Sitting on the range between stages, or at home watching videos. This gadget s excellent. Lately I've been impressed with Frankford Arsenal designs. The powder measure is very good, too. The only criticism I have for the deprimer is a more secure method to stow the plastic collets. They aren't critical to the device function, but they do improve it's feel and possibly it's function.

This depriming tool works as it is intended to. The one thing I had to do is file and dress the pin on the depriming rod as it was some what on the rough side. It would some times stick in the flash hole of the shell which made it hard to pull the shell out. I also do not use the spent primer catch tube. I just hold it over a small waste can and deprime the case. Saves time of having to empty the tube and wipe it clean as it does catch all the old primers and powder residue. great tool and it does save on press wear.

Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Hand Deprimer is a solid tool, I have used this multiple times and found the design of this tool was developed to a high standard. The operation is smooth, easy and enjoyable to use, I have used .223 through to .452 cases without issue, to a point where I can sit down, watch TV and happily deprime the case.
