II have these grips on my most-used Colt D frames (Cobra, Detective Special). They fit good, look good, and they fit my hand well. I just wish Hogue made this exact grip for S&W J frames.

Looks like a nice product but impossible for me to install myself. The directions call for you to push or knock out the Colt grip locating pin at the bottom of the frame to install the Hogue pin and retaining screw. After bending one of my brass punches and finally using a 2 pound ball peen hammer and steel punch, all I managed to do was move the pin a 1/16 inch! So now this is a gunsmith job that will sit around for a month or two (hunting season) until heat and a machine bench press can get the pin out. This Colt Detective has had replacement grips before but they all just replaced the original grips with original mounting screws. This Hogue grip looked good and the instructions seemed simple, but I’d rather rebuild another Porsche flat six than install a Hogue grip!

I purchased these Hogue grips on the outside chance they would fit a Colt Commando .38 special I have. Fortunately, they fit great. The gun is much easier to handle than with the stock wood grips.

It’s “after market” but good fit and feel on the revolver. Easy to put on with a bit of effort to remove the handle locating pin (mine was tack welded). I would recommend it to a friend. Fits my 1978 Colt Detective Special.

The grip was easy to install and fits my post 1966 Cobra perfectly. No problem using my speedloader. MUCH more comfortable and concealable than the original grips. I'm well pleased.
