BSA is much better than the Chinese knock offs. The scope rail attachment actually clamps down to attach to the weaver rail of the laser tag toys. Some knock off scopes have clamping devices that do not work without shims. I prefer these scopes also because the rear of the scope does not have a sharp edge on the ring holding the back sight glass. We have had kids cut their face when those scopes get jammed into them. The smooth rear edge reduces cuts to only potential bruises. Generally these scopes last for years except for when the kids taking them apart through ignorance. The biggest scope part that is a problem is when the battery cover since we can not purchase them separately after a kid takes the scope apart and loses it. The internal battery case retention spanner nut can be a problem as they can be so tight as to be difficult disassembling the battery box to clean the contacts or tighten the internal screws when they come loose although once I made a specific tool for this issue we have been able to work through this issue,Read full review

I mounted this optic on my tactical shotgun and was able to zero it to the front sight. It has multiple brightness settings and a zero setting that turns it off. It comes with a nice rubber cover for both lenses and most of all it works. The red dot stands out nicely in the field of view and you can keep both eyes open for target acquisition. You can't beat the price for a good quality optic for someone on a budget.

I own a few red dot sights....this is by far the best sight...best value. It stays accurate/no constant resetting.....adjustable red dot works perfectly in any light....great field of view.....solid mount....easy to adjust out of the box. Again.....a great value.

I have this sight on my custom 2289 Backpacker and I hammer the red zone on a 12" x 18" silhouette splatter target at about 25 ft in a standing, partially rested shooting position. And the lighting in my garage target range is lousy! The RD-30 is pretty basic which for me is a good thing. I had mine sighted-in in about 15 minutes. So when I decided to build up a 2240 I didn't have to think twice about which dot sight to order. The wind age and elevation adjustments are easy to use. and there are 11 different brightness settings for any light conditions. I highly recommend the BSA RD-30. I doubt there is a better dot sight in this price range. Cheers UPDATE: I have just installed one on my Custom Crosman 2240 as well.

Good value optic. Appears to be a well constructed and a adequately designed unit. Can't speak for durability, but the 458 Socom its installed on will determine that. I generally mount high magnification scopes on my rifles, but this build was put together for plinking, hogs, social engagements and I wanted to try a red dot. The BSA is allowing me to try without a large expenditure. Previous experience with BSA scopes helped with my decision.
