I already had a Nikon D5200 (a very nice camera) that I was using for photoshoots but found that it would be much easier if I had 2, each with different lenses so I bought the D5300. Though they are very similar (something I wanted), they do have some varying differences such as the built-in WIFI on the D5300. The body is metal and feels good in the hands and unlike the plastic bodies, it's weight is still light and feels more substantial than say a D3300 (like my Daughter's camera). Takes great pics in both Auto and Manual modes. Great buy with a low shutter count and a nearly flawless body I found that I saved BIG bucks when you compare prices of a new one. The seller is Great and delivers Exactly what he says he will along with speedy mailing and delivery. A+++

some glitches stopped me from 5 stars slow to focus.. I have a 3500 and 5600.. much better and quicker focus. I am a bird photographer, so in flight shots have been coming out blurry. worth the price but i am not depending on it for long day photo shoots .. the non nikon battery dies quickly. and there was no camera strap. that is a lot to leave out yes.. low shutter count was a plus

Camera looks like new. First day of use with a separately purchased 70-300mm lens produced great quality pictures. All of the features tried so far work as expected. Bought for Astrophotography and will update this review after some long exposure shots through my telescope.

Good for beginners. Most beginners can't decide what to get since they don't know where to begin. This is it folks, Canon or Nikon debate can go on and on but if you are a casual user go Nikon and this model hits all the points. If you want to buys many lenses down the road, Canon is the brand. With this camera, you pictures will look good without trying too hard. All cameras today are good but are they easy for beginners? This is camera is super easy.

This camera renders exceptional large-format images and has tons of great features. I only wish that the Wi-Fi functionality would connect directly to a computer instead of just mobile devices. I bought this as a starter DSLR, and it works very well with Nikon full-frame lenses as well as DX-designated ones. I take a lot of wildlife and nature shots, as well as product photos for online selling. I find a crop sensor body like this one to be ideal for my current needs.
